Here's the December gambling revenue report from my (former) #1 casino.
$25 million in gambling revenue for December. $15 million of that came from strictly the penny slots. $134 million bet on the penny slots to generate that $15 million in revenue.
There are apparently a lot of -bjs's out there in the wild.

This morning my wife was having dental surgery, so I decided to do a little gambling. Took 100 bucks out of the bank, and headed to the Happy Jacks by the Pomegranate Market, which is just diagonally across the street. (How convenient.)
I was spinning this and that and not winning much of anything. I ended up on good ol' African Sun. I spun down to my last 5 bucks, and I switched over to 40 cent bets, to stretch out my last couple of bucks.
Well, wouldn't you know, I end up with stacked lions times 5, for a 144 dollar win. Had I been maxed at 2 bucks I'd have won over 700. Of course, had I been maxed out at 2 dollars a spin, I'd have run out of money before the stacked lions hit.
So, I decided to play on. I bumped the bet up to 2 bucks (because, of course) and just a few spins later, hit 6 sun symbols for the bonus. The bonus is hitting with sun symbols, and then it serves up a 100 dollar space! Total for the bonus: 140 dollars, doubling my money.
I should stop, because I've frittered away wins like this before. But I jump from game to game, Down Under Keno, Sploosh, Golden Poker, etc. Finally I stop at Cowboy Up, a game I've gotten interested in lately. I think I've gotten the bonus once, and it doesn't actually pay very well. But I guess we have to file it under "volatile", because today I got stacked cowboys times four for over 200 dollars. (Again, that fifth cowboy would have put me in 700 dollar range.
Well, finally I come to my senses. I play it down to a nice round $440.01, and cash out. Tip the gal at the counter 40 bucks, eschew the penny, and back to the bank. I put $340 back in my account, but I keep out 60 so I can stop by the Deuces by the Wellness Center. There, I win nothing. And so it goes.

Went to get my wife coffee today, and decided to swing by the Black Diamond first. I stopped by there early yesterday morning, but the door was locked, because the gal who was opening also has to do prep work in the restaurant. Today it was a quarter to 3, so no problem getting in. I decided to take out 60 bucks.
I ran the usual routine, starting with Golden Temple. There were only a few coins left to bonus the last 3 columns so I bet $2 a spin trying to hit that. I spent through my first 20 and had to play a second 20 before hitting. I did manage to get all 3 columns for 2 sping, and I end up ahead a little.
From there I go to Sphinx Wild. After a few spins, I hit an expanding sphinx in the middle column, with queens on either side, to bring me up over a hundred. So far so good.
I then decide to play Aces Poker. It's a fairly common game, where if you get three of a kind aces, you get bonus spins with a multiplier. I do indeed hit, AND I pick the 4x multiplier. Gonna be a good bonus.
Ah, nope. I hit exactly 8 spins worth of nothing, and go from 117 to 101, because the bonus spins are not free spins. And it feels like I've lost my mojo.
So I flip over to good ol' Wild Life, and just start spinning down. I know I've put in forty total, so I'm not really watching the game, I'm watching the money counter so I can stop at a point where I can cash out, and still give the cashier a little something, maybe like 65. Then my brain goes, I think you just hit 3 wilds, bro.
And indeed I had, with rhinos on either side. 5 rhinos pays 200 dollars, and there's one line straight across, and 1 line up and down. Add to that a bunch of 4 of a kinds, and I win myself a nice round 500.
(Bonus appearance by the famous African Sun game in the upper left corner.)
I cash out and tip the gal 40. I just dropped the whole thing in the bank, because I've got stuff to get caught up on.
Hope you all have a good day too.

I had a fairly lucky morning today, and I learned something interesting. I was running errands, so I stopped by the Wild Winds casino, which is in the strip mall between my dentist and my wife's chiropractor. First I drop 40 bucks on the Gamer's Gold machine. It was giving me a lot of bonuses, but then the bonuses hardly paid out anything, so I end up with zero.
So then I jump over to a different machine, and I end up on Buffalo, a game you've probably heard of, if not heard, if you've spent any time in an actual casino. A couple of spins in, and I hit the bonus and I keep retriggering and retriggering, so my 8 spins ends up as 50. I get 1 really good spin with the 25x multiplier, and end up cashing out over 300. I tip the cashier 20 and prepare to leave.
But Wild Winds has done some expansion and remodeling, so I look over into the other side of the building. There I discover a Temple of Fire with a maxed-out major. So I drop 20 in there and start spinning. And I keep hitting bonuses, and I end up well over 200. Then, surprising everyone, I cash out without frittering it all away trying to win that major prize.
While the cashier is getting my money, I notice a sign on the door, "Beer and Wine only, on this side". It turns out that the two rooms with the cashier space shared between them actually count as two different businesses, and only the main room has the full liquor license. (There are plenty of booze bottles on the counter behind the register.) But the little off room counts as a different business entirely, and can only sell beer and wine.
Laws are weird. I tipped her another 20, and put 500 into the bank. Looks like we'll be having Christmas this year after all.
(And yes, I'm sure I'll go back tomorrow and try to win that maxed-out major. It's only the second one I've ever seen. The first one I saw, I spun away over 300 trying unsuccessfully to win it. You gotta play smart.)

Follow up.
I went back to Wild Winds today to try to hit that maxed-out major, but there was some broad parked at that machine. She was blowing her meager paycheck on fucking Power Keno.
Bitch, every single Gen. 1. video lottery machine in this casino has power keno, you don't have to hog the good machine just to play that. She was cashing out tickets every time she'd win something, but it was slowly disappearing, because it's fucking keno.
I think she hit a decent win before I got there, and was then chasing a second one. Low numbers Power Keno is a volatile game, but it's a fun prize when you do hit.
Speaking of dumb bitches, I proceeded to haunt the machines surrounding her, hoping she'd pack up and move on, playing away all the money I'd brought to chase that major. I had a couple of decent bonuses, but ended up a zero before she did. Cunt.
Because I'm a degenerate, when I went to pick up pizza later, I got 10 bucks in change, and then went to play at the Black Diamond for a minute. I played Temple of Fire there, and on my first spin, I hit the Green major fireball, but it wasn't part of a winning combo, so I didn't get the (much lower) bonus there. I did hit a couple of small ones on my way to turning 10 into 50. So now I have some more ammo to try Wild Winds tomorrow later. Who am I kidding, I'll sneak out tonight, first chance I get.

The maxed-out major story, part 3.
So I stopped in at Wild Winds this morning, and was happy to see no cars in the parking lot. I went in and the Temple of Fire machine was open, and the major had not been won. I still had my 50 from yesterday, so I put in 20, and promptly spin it away. Grr.
So then I decide to trick the gambling fates, and I put in the 10, as if that's the last of my money. And suddenly the bonuses start happening. I'm getting the free spins and the 6 Fireballs bonuses over and over. I got up to almost 200, and was down to about 60. All of the sudden, I spin the green Major Jackpot Progressive fireball! But again, it wasn't part of a winning combo. Double Grr.
Literally the next spin I get 6 fireballs, but no Major ball. But I do spin myself a hundred dollar bonus, back up to 170. I play down to 150, then cash out, because I'm supposed to just be getting coffee, and I've been gone for like 45 minutes.
When I cash out, the gal asks me if I want a hundred dollar bill. I say sure, and then I get an inspiration. Instead of tipping the 10 like I'd planned, I tip her the hundred! Merry Christmas, I say, and she's quite appreciative. She's just one of the typical older ladies, I barely even looked at her, but I'm hoping maybe the gambling fates can be bribed. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

The maxed-out major saga, part 4.
Since it's Sunday morning, I woke up early to worship at the temple of the risen Savior, Jesus Christ the Golden Temple and Temple of Fire slot games. The $1000 Major is still there. And so is the first 20 dollar bill I put in the machine, which paid nothing. I loaded in 30 more dollars, and switched over to Golden Temple, to "reset the RNG" as they say. It kind of worked, because I locked the first 3 wilds for 2 spins, putting me well over a hundred and giving me something to work with.
Back to Temple of Fire, and yes, suddenly, it was playing with me. Bonus after bonus, my total climbs over 200 and then over 300. I get another glimpse of the Green Major Progressive ball, but not in a winning combo again. The cashier (not the same one from yesterday, but still some workaday gal) comes over and tells me this machine was really paying out last night. She apparently had done a turn-and-burn, working until closing at 2am, and then rolling back in this morning to open. I heard her say she didn't even bother to clean up, she just went home, and I could hear her vacuuming and smell the 409. Finally I'm like, I can't stay here forever. I'm going to spin down to 200 and then go home.
But when I drop down below 300, I hit one more bonus, and it's a bunch of 10 and 20 dollar balls. My total creeps up and up, closer and closer to 400, when I hit the minor jackpot ball. (Not the major, the minor.) That puts me on the Iran Hostage Crisis, $444, and some change. I cash out. I consider tipping $100 again, but she rounded up my winnings, so instead I tip 45, to remind her of how great things were back when Trump was president.
Then to make things really interesting, I drive to the bank and drop 400 in the night deposit. I now have 20 dollars in my wallet, and I'll go back tomorrow morning to take another crack at it. The 10 dollars I took out when I got pizza on Friday has now paid 400 for me, plus the 100 tip from yesterday, plus the 45 tip for today, plus the 20 still in my wallet. I think this might be my best run ever from a single 10 dollar bill. I can't wait to find out how it ends.
(I'm glad I didn't think to play it down to 409, in honor of her cleaning, because I totally would have, and she would have ended up with a smaller tip.)
