Congrats on your recent success. And TY as always for the tales.
I still find it odd that tipping for slot machine wins is customary, FWIW.
Also what the fuck is Ruby Red Squirt?
It's less weird than tipping when you go to pick up a pizza, but I do that too, most of the time.
At casinos, I always call it "sharing the good luck". The casino attendants also will bring you drinks, so it's sort of like tipping a waitress. You can get free beers at most places, I think, but I usually just have Coke or Pepsi, maybe a Mt. Dew if I'm feeling adventurous.
Happy Jacks has Mr. Pibb, so I always get that when I'm there. I like to associate certain places with certain drinks. It adds to the superstition.
I rolled my 80 bucks back to the Little Vegas, and fed them, 20 at a time, into a couple of machines, winning not a thing.
Well, that won't do, so I hied myself to the other branch of my bank, took out...some more, and kitty-cornered it to Happy Jacks. 20 dollars into the Gamer's Edge machine, and lo and behold someone had abandoned Scarabs on the 9th spin on the top bet. A 2 dollar spin equals a 40 dollar win. The big guy behind the counter brings me my Mister Pibb (without even being asked, which is good or bad depending on how you look at it) and says, That's a good start.
I jump over to Ocean Magic, whose gimmick is that you can get bubbles rising from the bottom of the screen. If a rising bubble hits a star symbol, it expands into wilds in all directions. The video lottery O.M. machines, however, rarely do this. A couple of spins on the top bet, and somehow, I get 3 treasure chests for a bonus, which turns out to be 29 free spins. And a couple of spins in, I've got like 6 bubbles rising, and 2 of them hit stars, filling the top half of the board with wilds, $300+ dollar win. And the bubble just keep coming. They're wild even if you don't hit stars, so I'm getting 6 or 10 bucks a spin. And then, somewhere in the 20s, I get another double match for $150. Final bonus round win, $575 dollars and change.
Well, I'm smart enough (**cough**) to cash out at this point. $640 dollars total. I tend to cash out if the win makes a nice round number for the tip, so the big guy gets 40 and I take home $600. Or actually I take it right back to the bank. This time I go inside, since the drive-thru line is too long. I drop the whole pile, $781, to be deposited, and the girl teller says, Didn't I just help you?
Um, busted, I guess. I stammer something about casinos and ATMs, feeling way guiltier than I need to (or possibly not guilty enough), and she says, oh I stopped playing because I never win. It would be nice to have that kind of self-control.
So now I really am done, since I don't have any more cash, and I'm hungry.
Except I might have 40 dollars in my online account, I'll have to see.

Quite similar to my experience with your mom, I went in because her drive thru line was too long. Like you, I deposited my whole pile.

Because I have a problem:
Today I took 200 bucks out of my checking account. First I went to 777s, over by the Hy-Vee on Marion Road. I jumped around from machine to machine, hitting some small bonuses, and then spinning them away. Finally I loaded up Doodlebugger, an oil-well-themed reels game that usually doesn't pay out very well, but today I hit the Wild Dynamite bonus, where the little bug guy just throws wilds all over the board. Cash out $310.
So then I quit go over to Wild Winds, next to my dentist. I jump around from machine to machine, hitting some small bonuses, and then spinning them away. Finally I load up Plenty of Penguins, hit the Snowball Fight bonus, and they drop the wilds into the middle of the board, for another $300+ win.
So then I quit stop in at the Empire Casino, across from the mall. I jumped around from machine to machine, hitting some small bonuses, and then spinning them away. Finally I sit down at one of the old machines, not the really old one that has the Bonus Poker, but the 2nd Gen one with McPoker and the leprechaun bonus. I spin for a little bit, and finally hit that bonus, but without the multiplier, and then I pick the second-smallest pot besides. A 60 dollar win, but still, Boo hiss. I then jump over to Power Keno, where if you hit on the final ball, your prize is multiplied by 4. For this game, I play by picking only 4 balls (the top right corner, 9-10-19-20). I once hit all four, which is 512 credits at 25 cents each. But today, I finally hit all 4 with the last one being a power play, which means a 512 dollar win. The rare Keno win from ~bjs.
I go drop 600 back into the bank, take 40 over to Probably not called Connections 2, and pull a 77 dollar win on Magic Moons with my last spin. But then I take what I've got over to Certainly not called Connections 1 next door, and spin it away on their Gordon Gaming machine, which isn't paying squat, although I do hit a No Touchy Jekyll and Hyde bonus for like 12 bucks, and a Straight Flush on Red Joker Poker, except I'm only betting a quarter, so my win is only $12.50.
I think the streak is finally over, but that's the luckiest 2 days I think I've ever had gambling. Work starts tomorrow, so I won't be able to play much, which is just as well.

Congrats. This is an incredible streak. I read these posts with dread waiting for the big loss to come. Not yet.

Yesterday I took out a ten dollar bill and turned it into a thousand bucks over the course of 5, count em, 5 winning casino visits. It was mostly places you've heard about here before, but smack in the middle was a first-time stop at "Cheever's Gambling Den" while I was driving to pick up supper. It's basically 10 machines in a side room next to one of the local restaurants. Not the one I was picking up supper at though. I might have a problem. Much like the guy who'd won about a hundred on Power Keno, but who was still grinding away. Or maybe he started with a hundred, since the cashier brought him food while he was playing.
Last month I was present four different times when people cashed out a grand, so it was nice to finally have a winning day myself. The most recent one was a gal playing Sploosh, an alien-based reel game I've not had much luck on. She tripped like 3 hundred free spins on the top bet, and then kept retriggering. After she cashed out, she came back and passed out 20's to everyone, saying that's what you did when you won your first grand. I did not know that tradition, but I support it. I did not win anything that day, neither with my money nor hers.
Biggest win yesterday was 700+ on the new Wild Life. I finally locked all three wilds on that bonus, where previously I hadn't won much more than a couple of bucks in that bonus. Most interestingly, I was only betting a dollar a spin, rather than the max bet of 2, meaning that the top prize on that game is not pro-rated down. That makes a difference. I cashed out at least a hundred everywhere, and most places 200 or more. Keeping in mind that I also played at least a hundred in most of those places too. It wasn't pure profit.
I put a thousand in the bank today, and kept back a ten, meaning it was a straight +$1000 for the day though. That was fun.

That is fun.
I had a black jack run at the Cromwell, rickm3 knows where I mean, and my friend had to give me a $5 chip to double down as I did not have enough left in my $200 buy in. I won that hand and left up over $1,500 for the session.

Swung by the casino tonight on my way to Micky D's and hit for $350. Playing Wild Life I got 5 elephants in a row. Kind of reminded me of the night I met all your moms.

Yesterday I had some money in my online account and some time before work, so I stopped off at-probably-not-actually-called Connections 2. I tend to hit this one quite a bit, because it's right on the road to/from work, and the ATM fee is only 2 bucks, easily the lowest in town. So I go in and shoot a wave at the gal behind the counter (not Big Chungus, who has grown on me since the first time I met her. She's friendly and usually good luck, and it's nice to be a regular somewhere) and walk to the back of the room. The gal comes around to me and says "I'll need to see some ID."
..
..
Stopped me dead in my tracks. "Really?" was my response. "It's my first day here," she says. Oh, I thought you were just the other cashier. Whatever. I had my wallet out anyway, so I flip the card out and she looks at it, like she'd never seen one before. OK, she says.
Well, that threw me off of course. It took me three tries to get my money out, and I really should have known that I wasn't going to win anything, but I played two machines, had a couple of little hits, and like that, I was done.
I've never been carded before at one of these hole-in-the-wall places. I wonder if she might have been tipped off that they might do that to new hires.

Yesterday was another 10 dollar day. On the way to work, I swung by Casey's for a couple pieces of pizza and a drink. (One pepperoni, one beef, medium Coke.) I got a 10 dollar bill back, and swung by the Happy Jack's next to the Pomegranate Market. Played a little Wild Sphinx, then switched over to good ol' Wild Life. Betting a buck a spin, I hit the bonus, locked 2 columns of wilds late, and cashed out for $80. Tipped the guy 5 bucks.
So, as my work day ended, I started thinking about that cash. I may have a problem. The angel on the one shoulder said, keep that money aside. You had a small paycheck this week, you'll probably need it, and also you lost a hundred on Saturday, so you're not even up for the weekend. The devil on the other shoulder said, that's a good idea. You should stop by the casino after work and only play some of that money. Keep half of it back for the week. That's definitely a thing you do, right?
Well, since they were in agreement, after work I stopped by the Happy Jack's on 10th/12th, the one next to the Booze Boys with the drive through window. It's a smaller location, and they were kind of busy, so I couldn't play the machine I wanted. So I sat down at the Gordon Gaming machine instead, since the chair next to it was also empty, and put in 20.
I picked the Mardi Gras Money game, which I once won $300 dollars on, only to spin it all away. (You guys always want to hear my losing stories. There's one.) But it wasn't hitting tonight, so even at a dollar a spin instead of max bet, the money disappeared pretty quickly. I went back to the wallet for 20 more, and switched over to Untouchable Jekyll and Hyde. Playing a dollar a spin there, I hit 2 wild bonuses almost in a row. In that game, Mr. Hyde appears with a wild that moves across the board. If you don't win anything, he pounds the table, and all the symbols fall off and get replaced with new and hopefully better ones. That moves my total up to 40-something bucks, just a little bit ahead for this session.
So I switch over to Howlin' Wolf, a Native American themed game. Still betting just a dollar a spin, I get 5 moon symbols for 15 free spins. So the multiplier wheel comes up and I get... 1x. Boo. So for the bonus spins, all line hits will be multiplied by the multiplier (which in this case, means nothing) and the full moon symbol pays 1 times my bet. I go through the spins and they don't pay much. I win 15 dollars, which is terrible for a bonus game. My total is back up to just under 50. The cashier brings me a Pepsi in a white styrofoam cup. Classy, I feel like James Bond. It's really good and fizzy, which is unusual for a Pepsi, and even more unusual for a keno parlor.
It's getting late, and if I don't get home by around 11pm, there'll be a bunch of fun questions I'll have to evade, so I bump my bet up to 2 dollars, figuring either I cash out if I hit 50, or leave when it's gone. Just a few spins later, I hit another 5 symbol bonus. I had checked the pay table after the first bonus, and the free spins increase with 3, 4, or 5 symbols, so the 5 symbol win is rare, and 2 such wins almost in a row are even rarer. I spin the wheel again, and this time it comes up 15x, top value! That's more like it. So I spin twice for nothing. Then on the 3rd spin, I get 5 moons! 30 bucks apiece is 150 dollars, but there's also a 5 symbol line hit in there, so that spins earns me $200. 2 more nothing spins, and then another 5-moon-plus-line hit for another $200 dollars. And then a couple spins later, another, and I'm up to $600.
So I know I'm gambling on a Class 2 machine, which means this bonus is actually predetermined. The reels aren't individually random, I'm just watching the bonus programming play out. I get to wondering, I wonder if I'm gonna max bonus this? And 2 spins later, when I hit $800, I really get to wondering. This spin has a smaller line hit symbol, but it adds the howling wolf 5x multiplier, so it's even Steven. And two spins later, my hunch is confirmed. $1000 max win! Good thing I bumped my bet up to 2 dollars.
I cash out $1040.40. I tip the guy 40 bucks (both cashiers were dudes today, which is unusual, but less unusual than it used to be), and head home with $1035 in my wallet, mostly in 20s. So now both the angel and the devil on my shoulders are happy. This cash is all going in the bank, I've got stuff I want to buy with it.
---
Maybe later if I have time, I'll type out my other recent big $10 win with its fun followup story, and also what I think is my biggest loss ever. It's got to be up there, anyway. Have a good afternoon.
