Coaching Thread

That seems like a big age range.  There's a pretty huge difference between 12-13 year olds and 17-18 year olds IMO.

ETA: I think I created a "youth sports" thread somewhere.  I'm fine with a separate thread specifically for coaching, as long as CLit approves.

Nice. I workshopped a similar comment and decided to just leave that one on the tee for someone else.

really strange, so the 7th graders just sit on the bench all game or do you have to play everyone a certain amount of time? 

We lost 42-12 today. Every girl played about half the game. We are easily the smallest team in the league. No one can shoot but they got a ton of put backs.

It's obvious you really enjoy it. You did a good job with your daughters' softball, too.

I figute any offspring of mine (LOL!) will have Dad's coaching gene. 

As it stands right now, it appears that our football season will begin training camp on Feb. 4.

Right now, there is a ton of questions around the eligibility of players based on their grades. We have roughly 55 kids in our program and, if we were to strictly abide by the standing rule (which has already been waived), we would have 13 players eligible.

And we are considered much better off than a number of other schools in the region. Our main rival in the same town would not be able to field a team.

Poor kids.
