Are those their grades or their scores in standardized tests?
what I mean is, my school district is just giving everyone who makes a drop of effort a good grade

Grades. Standardized testing has mostly been dropped for now, I believe.

There is a tremendous swirl of controversy around this because parents are complaining that teachers are not entering grades into the system, therefore, it is lowering the averages.

This state needs a clean sweep of the legislature.

Yeah, that's some data that we used to try to convince the admins that playing was the right thing to do.

Our principal is a DOPE. Former science teacher who is always tweeting about following the science. I sub-tweet at him all the time with scientific numbers showing that sports is okay.

Allegedly, he is on probation for being bad at this job.

We were scheduled to start handing out football equipment today, but the school board is now attempting to backtrack on sports. "If the kids are not in school, how can we have sports?"

Naturally, our principal, a former science teacher backs this play because he hates sports.

Also note that our principal, a former science teacher, made us move our Signing Day ceremony from off-campus to the school auditorium on Wednesday.

Not playing six games as was scheduled. Now playing four, only intra-city games. Playing the other two schools twice each. Schedule will be dumb as one team will be off each week. Vote. Them. Out.

We have one girl who is 17 and is a hostess at a restaurant I guess she had work. Two of our 7th graders had a playoff game for their travel team. The fourth of our missing players is Covid quarantined. Her father tested positive 9 days ago, she’s eligible to play next Saturday

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this thread seemed most appropriate. My high school varsity baseball coach died late last year (undetermined cause). I only played for him one season, but he was a good guy and a good coach. I played 2 seasons on JV and was much closer to that coach... he died yesterday of complications from COVID, and was really an awesome guy. I didn't keep in touch with either of them, but many of my high school teammates have come out of the woodwork to comment and offer T's and P's on facebook. They were both old dudes and say what you will about COVID and underlying conditions, but it still sucks that they both died during this fucking pandemic.
