Our yellow-bellied school board has restricted us to only playing within our city where there are three high schools.
We will play each team twice, once home, once away. The two teams with the best record will play the fifth game for the city championship. It's dumb but good to be on the field with the guys.
Coming off our horrific 0-10 season, we are predicted to be the worst of the three teams.
Tonight, we play the Bulldogs and debut our blue-on-blue jerseys.
They are fire
Last season, the Bulldogs beat us 36-6.
Our Offense
We'll be heading by a freshman QB who is the future face of the program. He's undersized but he's quite athletic and has that "it" factor. We will protect him this spring by relying on the run game and our quick screen passing attack, though we do have to take a shot or two each quarter to keep them honest.
The offensive line is young but all of them played varsity last year and they are a hard-working group. We should be able to grind the ball behind them.
We are not overly-talented at the skill positions, but all of our guys are adequate. It will be my job to spread the ball around and to make sure that we get them in open spaces. I have confidence in all five receivers and two running backs and the game plan appears solid.
Our defense is not good outside of one defensive end and one linebacker and we will be hurt a ton by lack of depth. The offense will need to control the clock to help them out.
The Bulldogs had the same academic issues as we had during the pandemic, so it seems like they are going to be hurting for depth as well. We threw two picks in last year's game and we cannot do that again.
Their head coach and works as their DC. We faced each other once as OC/DC and I battered him 49-10 with superior talent.
I would say we are probably two-touchdown dogs tonight.
I'm not sure that our kids play hard enough yet, but we'll find out tonight.

Good luck tonight. Sounds like you have a challenge.
I have no clue how these four games will go.
However, with some schedule changes and some re-zoning supposedly coming, I think that we are a .500 team in the fall and an 7-3 / 8-2 team the next season with a chance for a nice postseason run.
