I know it’s only like 1/3 of the season so he probably won’t keep it up and will get hurt anyway, but Duran is on pace to hit more triples than anyone has had since 1925. He’s also 5th in the league in doubles. Seems good.
Are you including Negro League stats?
Lol. As a matter of fact I am. Duran is on pace for 24. The Negro League record is 19, by the great Mule Suttles in 1926. But he did that in just 89 games, FWIW.

I'm way too lazy to look it up but I wonder how many fields didn't have fences in 1926, especially in the Negro Leagues. (It may be zero?)

It's wild how far Duran has come since last year, when he didn't try to go after a fly ball he missed, he said some stupid comments about not wanting fans to jump on the bandwagon of last year's dogs hit team, and he got hurt all the time.
This is so weird to be giddy about a young player and a young team that maybe, MAYBE might win a play off series and be really scrappy competitor.

Agreed. It’s sort of a fun team that will probably get blown up as soon as it’s time to re-sign any of the young good players. Isn’t small market baseball the best?
Considering I had zero expectations for a competitive team this year, this team is hot and fun to watch. Since cutting the cable a few yrs ago, my only option to watch the Sox games has been the absolute piece of shit NESN360 app. I know you will all be shocked to know that I've been able to watch with my buddy's login, but the shitty app logged me out all the time. I just got a bonus and a raise at work (hb), so decided to actually pay for the app legitimately. The one nice perk of the app is that they offer home games in 4K resolution, which looks amazeballs on my TV. It's $30/month, which is way too much, but I'll cancel as soon as the regular season ends.

THe worst part about this team being somewhat entertaining and good is that management can get away with this dogs hit plan to mimic small market teams and tell the fans to be patient and wait for the kids to mature and MAYYYYYYYBE we'll spend for a legit star at some point.
Also, congrats on paying for something!

thought you transitioned into a Mets fan
A nasty rumor that started because I watched a few Mets games when the Sox were 85 games out of the playoffs one season many years ago. It's a fun narrative that mj won't let die.
My son texts Thursday and asks if I want to go to the Sox game on Friday night. He won them from his company. I replied "Yes, but I hope the seats don't suck" (Both Wolf and Greg know that not all seats at Fenway are equal, the right field grandstand doesn't even face the infield). He replies later in the day that the seats are great and we should go early if I can get out of work (which I can).
Here's a recap:
Parking in the lot directly across from the park ($0) Tour of Fenway including on the field and in the Monster seats during batting practice ($0) 2nd part of tour including access to private areas of the park and the Red Sox HOF ($0) Access to the Ford Club inside Fenway Park before, during and after the game. Air conditioned, nice bathrooms, TVs etc. ($0) Seats in the 2nd row of Dugout Box 40. If you watch the game on TV, we were 4 seats to the left of what you could see from the CF camera. Probably 12 seats towards the Sox dugout from directly behind home plate. ($0) Waitress service to our seats including credit for alcohol and food. ($0). Not sure how big the credit was, but we ordered over $100 of stuff during the game and the cart checkout was always $0.
Here are a few things that I did have to pay for: I drove, gas round trip to Boston ($25) We sat at the bar in the Ford Club between the tour and the game and had beers and wings. We went back to the Ford Club after the game for one last beer while waiting for the car and foot traffic to subside. ($100)
Prettay sweet deal. Unfortunately the Red Sox lost to those faggot Astros.

Sounds pretty awesome. I’m jealous.
I went to a game a couple weeks ago for free, but it wasn’t nearly as free as yours. My rich BIL bought the tix (good seats in lower box just past third base), but then I paid for parking and food and drinks and such.
