Episode 2, not bad. Seemed really long for some reason, but is setting things in motion. I liked the Kingsguard guys going old-school Killer Bees with the final fight. I am much more clueless about how things are going to be paced out than I was with GOT.
Also I was reminded last night while perusing the internet that all the Tullys (Catelyn's family, lords of the riverlands, etc) are named after Muppets.
When they hit that bump in the road during the funeral, I really thought that we were going to see a baby head roll down the road
If you can catch up on who the characters are and are just really watching it as a primer for Season 2, I think the last 3 episodes would probably be sufficient. That's after the time jump so you won't be confused by the different actors, and that's when the direct run up to Season 2 begins in earnest.
One fun thing that I didn't even catch on the show last night but I've seen in the recaps--they just casually dropped the fact that Viserys & Allicent have a 3rd son (4th kid overall) who literally hasn't been mentioned on the show before last night.
Solid episode last night, moved some pieces around, not a ton of action (I like the battle that involves no one we care about just happens off screen).
Seeing Harrenhal was cool. They keep bringing in these side characters that I vaguely remember from the books turn out to be relatively important but I have no idea who they wind up being (except the hot chick from Harrenhal).
They might want to work on their security in Kings Landing. I get that a lot of people get assassinated in the original series but it seems awfully accessible.

For the most part, I'm enjoying this season but I have to say I often don't know who the characters are. It seems much harder to follow than GOT was, and also season 1 of HOD. I'm sure the time jumps are a part of that, but overall, I think there are just too many "main" characters.

I agree, even though I know logically that it has fewer "main" characters.
Also, the hot chick from Harrenhal is the Wolf Girl from Glow, if anyone but me remembers that show.
I took dong's suggestion and went back to watch the second half of S1 to get ready for S2. I have 1 episode left before I jump into the new ones. I still find it very confusing that everyone basically has the same name, but I'm glad I rewatched to get a refresher on the families/houses and stuff. I'm enjoying it.
Last night I watched the one where Viserys drags his rotting corpse out of bed onto the throne, declares who the heir to Driftmark is, and then goes home and dies. I'm pretty sure that's how we're gonna find out who the Democratic Presidential nominee is.
Solid debut. The ending of the first episode is changed from the book but generally thought it was a good debut. I saw that this season is 8 episodes and unlike the game of thrones books there really aren’t as many predictable season-ending events that I can recall so I have no idea how far they’ll go this year.
I just watched this one. That whole sequence with the dudes going through the castle to take a son for a so … I didn’t care for it. What’s the deal with them just straight up walking into the throne room and no one says anything? I get that Aegon and his pals were drunk and maybe didn’t see them, but there’s kingsguard there and stuff. Why aren’t they stopped? the whole plot should have ended right there.
