maybe we're not connecting on my level of concern here. it's not very high. i would like to avoid a potential embarrassing encounter with a stranger, and i believe given the opportunity my son would tell a cashier they have poofy hair like his black cousin. is there anything wrong with that statement? no. do i want to be there for that? no.
Also, unlike you Kite, Yokel is likely to encounter a black person.
KJ1's best friend in class is a black kid. They also play with a black kid from the neighborhood. I now have to think very carefully about taking them out in public until they're 19 in case they say black, I guess.
Sunday, no real plans. Our friends wanted us to come over for dinner Sunday night, but I think we are going to turn that down. Take the dogs hiking here: Probably pick up meat for Sunday night dinner from here: www.chopshopparkcity.com/
getting up tomorrow morning and heading to Richmond to meet 2 college buddies to go golfing and drinking tomorrow and Saturday, 3rd college buddy might be joining us Saturday
one of the 2 lives in Dallas so haven't seen him in almost 2 years because COVID is murdering everyone
IIRC, the 3 of us haven't hung out since my wedding which was almost 5 years ago
naturally then, this week my wife has been super happy and supportive of my upcoming 2 days of fun, (in her slight defense, satan's waterfall is the best)

Per MJ's request (who else), a recap of my Nashville bachelor party weekend:
Tried to leave town Thursday afternoon, it was a debacle. We met at a bar on Daniel Island and took an Uber van to the airport. The Uber was a BraunMobility handicapped van, complete with a wheelchair lift and wheelchair seat. The driver was handicapped, not that there's anything wrong with that...but also he couldn't fucking drive and almost killed us by taking an exit ramp at 80 mph and bailing out at the last minute to keep from flipping the fucking van. Get to the airport in one piece however and the flight was delayed 3 hours due to lack of a pilot (this is apparently a theme in airports right now...airlines KNOW their next pilot is not going to arrive in time to fly their next segment but they leave it scheduled "on time" until 20 minutes before boarding and then WHAM you have a big delay...cool, cool, cool). So we left the airport and went to...Chilis...to have a few drinks and kill time. Eventually we get on the plane. We brought some good Weller in minibottles to drink on the flight. That was fun.
We stayed at the Noelle, which is a Marriott about 3 blocks from Broadway. Nice place. Big "Tower of Terror" art deco vibes, except no spiderwebs. Dropped our stuff off and headed first to the Wild Beaver and then to the Kid Rock bar because bachelor party. Within an hour i had a very pretty blonde hanging on me. Now...i was very drunk, however...i am pretty sure she was hot. I mention this twice because as i was talking to her she kept looking over at this other (also hot) chick and her boyfriend. I asked if she knew them and she says "that's my daughter" After i picked my jaw up i laughed and asked who she really was but it was actually her daughter. She is from Altoona FL and had the kid at 16. whoooooops. anyway, i stayed on mission and left with the guys, we dropped in a couple more bars and went back to the hotel around 3:30.
Friday: went to Frothy Monkey for brunch. First drink at 9:30 CT. Randomly walked into this takeout mongolian place called Khan's Mongolian Grill and drank Sapporos out of his cooler while he spoke engrish with us. Then he told us he had saki in the back, we drank a few bottles of that and then bid him adieu. Around this time i took an adderall to keep up. Next was a bourbon tasting at Nelson's Green Brier, that was pretty good but too formal, they did not like that we had little side conversations like a bunch of women. We had lunch at ML Rose Craft Beer. I drank vodka sodas, sorry, i do not have a beer review. We went back down to Broadway and stopped into Robert's Western World, a place i've been many times before and never disappoints. It's pretty much a Waffle House with a bar and live old timey country bands playing 24 hours a day. We went...somewhere after that, i cannot remember...but then it was time to go see Ron Funchess at the comedy club. He was very funny, and so was his opener Blair Socchi (i don't think that's how you spell it). However, by the time he finished i was near death. this is around 11 pm, so i'm over 12 straight drinking hours. we went back to the hotel and i pretended like i was going to change clothes and passed out in my bed. This was the strip club night, so i missed that.
Saturday: Out at 10 for brunch at the Sun Diner, which only had beer, that was a problem - but their food was really good. Went to the first open bar we found, that turned out to be the Jason Aldean one. Drank until we felt better and headed over to Rippy's. Rippy's is kind of a tradition but it's really pretty meh. Went to Paradise Park next (as previously mentioned, my favorite bar on broadway due to table games, video games, rooftop, just a little bit of everything). I broke the pop-a-shot record with a 98, nbd. I was running low on time before my flight at this point so i bailed and took a 45 minute nap before heading to the airport where my flight was delayed due to lack of pilot again.
I recovered from the drinking around midday on Tuesday, 50ish hours of hangover. Not too bad.
Sounds like a great trip. Not sure I could have fared as well as you with that much drinking. Kudos.
I have only spent 48 hours in Nashville, 2 24 hour trips, but it is a fun place.
Pic of the blonde? Did you exchange information?
i did not take a pic with her. i can't say for sure but i think my brain was on track to adulter until she broke the "i'm here at the Kid Rock bar with my daughter and her boyfriend" news, after that point i was just in it for the comedy. I do have a creep shot of a random waitress in Rippys:
(ETA - well...apparently because i put this photo in my archive it can't be shared even with a link created for it. you'll have to use your imagination)

Friday: My mom wants to go to the museums on University Circle. I think we are going to the Art Museum and the Crawford Auto Museum. UEM knows what I mean.
That pizza looks incredible, those seats look substandard
Yeah, it was hard to get 8 in the same section. Even at 4 there was not a lot available. I think there will be a lot of dickhead Red Sox fans there based on past experience.
There were none on the left field which I prefer due to close proximity to the Great Lakes Beer Garden.
