Heads up - Great Lakes Distillery has their seasonal Christmas Ale back for the holidays. Big fan of it.
*Great Lakes Brewery
I am the biggest Great Lakes goon, but I have never been a fan of its Christmas Ale.
Glad you enjoy it.
Hah - thanks for the catch. Few of my buddies from Ohio swear that it used to be better when it was way more local/small batches, and that now it's a lot more widely available (even as a seasonal beer) it's not nearly as good as it used to be.

The Christmas Ale I think has different recipes from year to year.
Great Lakes was one of the early craft beer pioneers. It is still good, but I think other breweries, in Cleveland and elsewhere, have passed it. I still enjoy it and have a lot of nostalgia for their beer. I have had their beer since it opened in 1988.
My buddy delivered the beers he picked up for me from FiF-famous Tree House brewing the other night. I requested the mixed case including 6 aluminum cylinders each of the following: Green, Haze, Alter Ego, and Super Treat. I also had him get me three of the Eternity bottles. Cracked one of those open last night--I can report it was yummy wummy.

I'm pretty sure I had Super Treat. It's excellent. I LOVE Alter Ego.

I've had Alter Ego, Green, and Haze before and en-joyed all of them. Will let you know what I think of Super Treat when I try it!

I don't think I've had Super Treat. The others are all quite enjoyably yummy. I'd probably go Haze > Alter Ego > Green, but you can't go wrong with any of them.
I went to Fox Farm today for the first time in a couple months. Picked up the following drinks of beer:
8 Double Burst DIPA: Have had before, and it's absolutely delightful. Kinda wish I bought more, tbh.
4 Woodline Oatmeal Stout: I've enjoyed this a time or three as well. A very good stout, excited to drink it again.
4 Stet Düsseldorf-Style Altbier: Frankly a Düsseldorf-Style Altbier sounds made up, but my pal GPS (Magnum knows who I mean) used to live in Düsseldorf and he raved about the beer there, so there's that.
4 Scatter American Brown Ale: I believe my friend Prez had good things to say about this one recently. I feel like I may have gotten this once last year, but I don't remember anything about it.
3 Copestone Barleywine aged in Bourbon and Port Wine Barrels: These clock in at 13.5% ABV, and at only $16 per 16.9 ounce bottle, how the hell could I say no?

That Altbier does sound great. I enjoyed a few of those in Dusseldorf.

I'm drinking one right now. It's... different. I don't have the palate to tell you what it is, but it's a very unique taste. I think I like it.
