I’m kind of bookmarking this because I’m watching and don’t want to forget my take…but Black Hawk Down might be my vote for the best war movie of my lifetime, which might make it might vote for the best war movie I’ve seen. It’s insanely well done.

I never followed up on this--but BlackHawk Down is absolutely IMO the best war movie from start to finish. Specifically the battle scenes are done so well, especially given how small of a scope the whole thing involved. It's not as dramatic as D Day in Saving Private Ryan or anything but as a whole it's absolutely top notch. I need to give Fury and 1917 a rewatch before I put out my definite top 5.

You are dead on correct with this take and I've been on this hill for years. It's a spectacular movie that really makes you feel the action.
I coach with a guy who loves 13 Hours in the same way.
Also, The Covenant, currently on Amazon Prime is made in the same vein.
1917's final scene may be the most heartbreaking scene of all time.

These 4 are in my top ten all time favorite movies so they're easy:
Ghostbusters Empire Raiders BTTF
The last one is a toughie. I'm stuck between Rocky IV, Goonies, Karate Kid, Dirty Dancing, Top Gun, and Coming to America. I guess I'll go with Coming to America.
