The Program was good one. It's a entertaining yet stupid enough movie if you're in the right age range for it. I really have no interest in Simmons breaking down The Deer Hunter or something like that. Also, in this one Bill is out of his element trying to hang with a couple of meatheads like Russillo and Kyle Brandt (Ivy league meathead).
I am making my final pass through The Rewatchables and listening to the ones I have passed over yet have some interest in.
I just finished "Blue Chips" and "Point Break" Titus was on both, and I think he is pretty good. I don't think I had ever heard him speak before. Here are some comments by him that I found interesting/funny.
1. Every year the NCAA shows a gambling video that the players laugh at. He said players don't know or care about point spreads as they are just focused on getting laid after the game.
2. During his time at Ohio State he never once hosted a recruit. He asked Thad Matta why, and Matta supposedly told him that they wanted the recruits to come here.
3. This one I was dubious about. He said a lot of people wear Johnny Utah Ohio State jerseys. I have never seen one.
Boyz in the Hood was good. Van Lathan can be pretty annoying but I liked the other guy (Logan Murdock I think?) I feel like it was his first appearance on The Rewatchables.
Apparently they're releasing a new one on Sunday night for the 4th. Assume it's Independence Day.

I want to listen to that one, so I am happy with your positive review.
Van Lathan annoys me as well. I skipped a few that I had some interest in because he was on them.
"Stripes" one was funny because Simmons constantly called the Winnebago a "minivan". Also, Fennessey just basically dogged on Simmons and Ryan the entire cast.

Independence Day was solid but Bill is sometimes borderline unlistenable on shit.
Asking if Independence Day was the first time computer viruses were used in a movie was fucking peak Simmons just throwing out dumb shit to see if it stuck.

I listened to this one. It was really good. Van Lathan was annoying the last 30 minutes. It seemed like he decided he wasn't receiving enough attention so he just said crazy things for a while and returned the focus to him. "Francis Ford Coppola only made 3 good films." Ok.

“Sometimes.”
mj: Van Lathan’s dad died. Cut him some slack, you monster.
