I'll be travelling to the City of Brotherly Love Delco Trash for a wedding in late January. I'll be staying at a hotel right in the heart of the city and likely won't have a car. I might find myself looking for meal recs and or bars, so hopefully mj can shine and tell me about all the hot spots other that Timeout in Skippack.
I have been to Philly once. It was also for a wedding in 1994. So, my recommendations are really dated.
I did enjoy a cheesesteak from Geno's and Pat's. I split one of each with my law school roommate who had moved there after graduation. I don't recall which one I liked better.
You will have to rely on the questionable tastes of 76 and BSMB.

I probably won't be looking for dinner during my stay. Friday night will be spent at the brewery and Saturday night I'll be eating wedding steak (I'm expecting it to be a quality meal based on what I've gleaned from the invitation and what I've been told about the brides family). The two meals I might be on my own for would be breakfast and lunch on Saturday. There's a brunch on Sunday morning that I'll attend before returning to CT.
