I literally have 12-15 guys on my high school team who could have done that
i think it can be all of the above.
1. pandering nonsense to get a woman out there for a team with no other positive news to report, a recent me too scandal, and a walking dead coach 2. such a shitty team that there wasn't a guy they liked for kicking, and she kicked pretty well in practice 3. idiotic awareness/execution on the kickoff, as they must have known they weren't going to move the ball without a miracle so this was going to be her one shot, let her sink or swim with a real kick
They showed her attempting field goals from a short distance before the game. There is virtually no chance she would have made a field goal or most likely even an extra point.
Desmond Howard apparently drew ire online because he compared her kicking style to Charles Barkley's golf swing.
Vanderbilt should immediately discontinue their football program
ETA: I would argue that Vandy's biggest problem isn't culture. It's that they had to look outside the program to find someone athletically gifted enough to "sail a ball 30 yards"
this is why high school softball is the worst thing ever created, fuggin woman will not shut up for 2 seconds in their dugouts and instead spend the whole time singing stupid fucking songs and chants, but hey, you're building your teammates up with your incessant chatter that in no way washes to background noise after 2 minutes
Ldot, how much high school softball do you watch? See BSMB at many games?
high school baseball and high school softball fields are almost always next to each other or the same sports complex, plus game days same day so ride the bus together to/from so if we finished first, we'd be waiting at their game for them to finish, I've seen way too much
also kept score/worked scoreboard/announced for the local leagues during a few summers for some extra bucks and that included women's leagues and U-21/U-18/u-whatever
So it looks like Auburn thinks they can do better than Gus Malzahn. Bring back Tommy Tuberville!
While it was not a stunning firing, 68-35 with a national title (as OC) ain't exactly going to be easy to replace. Wonder if they have someone in mind.
Though most of his early career was in the Arkansas-Oklahoma area, he was born in Texas. Hmmmmmmmmm

I saw Hugh Freeze's name mentioned and then Art Briles as a possible replacement for Freeze at Liberty. That's definitely a 2020 type thing to happen.

I saw a funny tweet about Malzahn joining the Saban Rehab Clinic then moving on after a year or so.
