Is it worthy of cancellation if someone says Sarah Fuller kicking off for Vandy is not a big deal. I have seen articles where the squib kick was on purpose and others where it was said it was not on purpose. If it was not on purpose that was a pathetic effort. Should that be a cause for celebration?

I was watching that live. They made a huge fucking deal out of it and then she kicked it like 20 yards. And I think that was probably her best effort! The guy that caught it was caught so off guard that he almost fumbled it. Hilarious effort.

My hot take is this.....
In the post-game interview, she said that she wants little girls to understand that "if you set your mind to it, you can do anything"
Literally, a week ago, she had likely never once in her life thought about kicking a football in a college game. They called her.
I'm not exactly what she set her mind to and worked towards.
Vandy head coach was fired, so this pub didn't help him at all. Difficult to believe that no one else on the team was athletic enough to kick a ball.

And if you set your mind to it, you too can have a terrible kick-off if gifted such an opportunity.
I saw she gave a half time talk to the team, which is before she even was on the field. I am sure that went over great.
Vanderbilt should immediately discontinue their football program
ETA: I would argue that Vandy's biggest problem isn't culture. It's that they had to look outside the program to find someone athletically gifted enough to "sail a ball 30 yards"

I did see the ST coordinator addressed the "trying to find someone else on the team to do it" issue. Pretty funny quote:
This wasn't a PR stunt. It was literally like, 'OK, what gives us the best chance to win?' We did try out some other guys on the team that allegedly played soccer, like, when they were six. It was brutal.

I literally have 12-15 guys on my high school team who could have done that

i think it can be all of the above.
1. pandering nonsense to get a woman out there for a team with no other positive news to report, a recent me too scandal, and a walking dead coach 2. such a shitty team that there wasn't a guy they liked for kicking, and she kicked pretty well in practice 3. idiotic awareness/execution on the kickoff, as they must have known they weren't going to move the ball without a miracle so this was going to be her one shot, let her sink or swim with a real kick
