Welp, here we go.
No Chara, no Krug, still have Tuukka, at least until he quits or shits his pants at the least opportune time again.
The good news is, at least in my opinion, is that literally every game will be normal east coast time, so I can pretend to watch the regular season games at a reasonable hour. The experts tell me this will be more of a defensive minded team, and while they may not compete for the President's Trophy, they should be a conference semi-finalist, at minimum.
No word if they're allowed to have puck bunnies in their hotel rooms.

That was way easier than I expected, in my expert hockey opinion. Either Washington was way more banged up than they let on, or Boston might be pretty good. Hard sayin, not knowin.
They should kill the Islanders or 'Guins in the next round. Poor Ogie.

That was a really fun game last night. Felt like the Bruins should have scored like 7 goals in the second half of the second and early third period; they were just pummeling that dude with great chances but he was playing out of his damn mind. Once the Islanders tied it up and got that big momentum swing going into OT, it really felt like one of those games where a hot goalie was gonna cost the better team a W. That Marchand game-winner though... Jesus Christ, what a fucking shot.

Twas indeed a tight pucker of a game. In all reality they should have won 5-1, but they couldn't shoot straight, and when they did it was right at the dude's chest.

Like clockwork. He's great right up until you really need him to be. And tied 2-2 in a tight seven game series at home is when you really need him to be, and he sucked. Again. If he starts tomorrow they will lose this series.

I will never understand not starting Swayman in that game last night. Rask was hurt, admitted he was hurt, and couldn't stop shit. They needed someone to stand on their head to bail out their depleted defense, and if Rask couldn't do it, why not try the rookie?
Either way, this core is done and it's time to rebuild. Apparently they have a lot of cap space, so they have the opportunity to build on the fly and I will be very excited to see what this team can do only if they make the playoffs next season.
