Recent trip to upstate NY recap requested by mj.
This trip was Wed - Fri so this thread may not be appropriate... x-post weed thread, x-post beer goon thread, x-post movie thread, x-post baseball hof thread, etc etc etc.

Step 1 was my usual trip to Fox Farm on the previous Sunday to stock up with good beers that my buddy doesn't have access to.

Wed - Drive 2.5 hrs to the Catskills and arrive around noon. He had ordered 3 cords of wood a few days earlier and they happened to deliver a few minutes after I arrived so we spent the next few hours stacking. I didn't mind the exercise but unfortunately it was raining so it kinda sucked being cold and wet.




We took a break at some point to eat lunch and have a few brews. The rest of the day consisted of drinking, smoking weed, playing cribbage, dinner (he made pork tenderloin, potatoes and veggies), and watching Leon The Professional. I had seen it years ago and didn't remember most of it, so I en joyed.

Thur - Wake up and have some excellent coffee (x-post Farva's coffee thread) then head out for the 75 min drive to Cooperstown. We bought tickets for an 11 am entrance but the place was empty. I had been there previously, but my friend had not. It was nice to not have to wait in any lines for the exhibits, we completed the tour in about 2.5 hrs. 

Next stop was Red Shed brewery where I had 2 pints and my buddy had 2 flights. Food purchase is required due to COVID, so we split a large soft pretzel while drinking our beers.
We then drove the 1/4 mi to Brewery Ommegang. That place was awesome.


I really en joyed their beer selection, only a few IPA's and a LOT of very strong beers:



We each ordered flights and made friends with the bartender who gave us each a few freebies. These are 5oz pours but that shit adds up quick when the ABV is 8 or 10 or 12.5



We ordered some Poutine with Flank Steak to help absorb all the alcohol. It was yummy.
The last beer we had was another freebie from Dan the bartender, he claims that this mixture is his daily "shift beer". It was a 50/50 mix of the Adoration Belgian Strong Dark Ale (10%) and the Bourbon Barrel Vanilla Smoked Porter (8.9%). Yeah, that was fuckin awesome. Dan also gave us a few glasses to take home. Needless to say we tipped him very well.

Don't tell Farva that I drove back to my friend's house after all that beer but luckily for me and everyone else, it was literally all back roads. We didn't see many or any cars at all and I easily managed to stay in my lane and not kill anyone. In all seriousness, I'm very confident I could have passed a sobriety test, I'm not quite as confident I could have passed a breathalyzer test.
Later in the evening we watched the film from UEM's avatar. This is the 2nd attempt by me to watch it and 2nd failure. Half way through, his wife asked "Can we watch something else"? I took that opportunity to go to bed.

Friday - Wake up to more great coffee and he made eggs that were just laid that morning by their hens... good stuff. I showered, packed, and headed out. He sent me home with a dozen fresh eggs.

Sounds very enjoyable. Always wanted to go to Cooperstown for the HOF and Ommegang.

So it was you and your buddy and his wife? Did she give off any threesome vibes?

Sounds like a fun time, Prez. I enjoy beer and pretzels and firewood and eggs and cribbage and baseball. I think I’d have fun on that kind of trip.

Calling her a cunt seems a tad aggressive in that situation.

I think it went a little deeper. The best I can figure out is that she got pissy in general because he took a day for himself. Her original request was to go to a CVS and get the gum but the nearest one was over an hour out of the way. I didn't read the texts but I assume there was other cuntiness that prompted his outburst.

I'm assuming that's sarcastic. That being said, we were planning on eating a real meal at Ommegang and it was a $12 pretzel that was HUGE. They also sold "Cuomo Chips" to get around the food rule that are 50 cent bags of potato chips that have about 3 chips each in the bag.
