The first ep of Ted Lasso really didn't hook me when I tried it a month or so ago. For some reason I was watching TV with my wife ln instead of watching sports, so we gave this show another shot. We watched 4 eps and I enjoyed all of them a lot. I get the hype and am excited to continue watching.
I am having a problem with this show. I have 3 or 4 eps banked up now (the current ones) and I have no interest. I tried one last week and made it 10 minutes. I am not sure what my beef is.

the 2nd season really ratcheted up the melodrama and cut down on the comedy. it was almost a different show entirely this season. i still liked it overall, but by the end i was annoyed by the soap opera tones. Even Roy gets neutered by the time they get through the epilogues. The good parts are still really good though. Roy and Ted in the falafel restaurant remains my favorite moment from either season.
"Keeley told me to expect a mustachioed surprise that would anger me. I thought it would be Wario. Or my great aunt Natalie."
to me it was OK, but they have so far this season gone really overboard with the schmaltz. i guess i get that it's a christmas episode and it's supposed to be saccharin, and also apparently this is one of the 2 additional episodes Apple asked them to do that weren't a part of the original 10 episode season so it might not have gotten the full editing treatment.
Re: the rest of the eps so far, Roy Kent is far and away the best character this season.
It's Roy Kent and Coach Beard pretty close to me, then I'm not really even sure. Higgins maybe?
We finished Ted Lasso ln. I think I agree with BD's rankings that my favorite characters are Roy, Beard, and then Higgins or Ted.
And while we're here we have to rank the ladies because that's what we do here at FiF. I think I go: 1. Keeley, 2. Phoebe's teacher, 3. Sassy, 4. Jane, 5. Rebecca. That's not to say I don't like Rebecca--she's thicc.
Really enjoyed all the rapid fire pop culture references throughout the show. We had to turn the subtitles on because if you're not paying attention you'll miss something.
I'll spoil the below part because I'm guessing there are a handful of folks here who will watch it at some point:
{Spoiler} Nate's turn to the dark side over the course of season 2 was hard to watch. Dude went from the kit manager to assistant coach and wanted more credit? Tearing up the Believe poster seemed over the top. And did anyone else notice how gray his hair got over the course of the two seasons? It's like he's a different person at the end of season 2.
I finished Season 2 of The Morning Show. They had a few fairly major storylines this season, but didn't land the plane, as 31 would say. I think it was a good season, but the finale didnt really tie it all together. Felt like Sopranos somewhat with dropped storylines.
Side note: women age like shit. - Jennifer Anniston's mouth is frozen from all the botox. She talks weird. She still has her Rachel hair. She should retire. - Reese Witherspoon generally looks fine but not really attractive. She looks like shes had some kids. But her face isnt completely fucked up. - The girl from Sopranos just looked old. In some scenes, she looked OK, others it was like sheesh. - Mindy Kahling is just enormous
Then this lady: her entire face is frozen. She looks like a lion.
I watched the first episode of Ted Lasso. It had some chuckle worthy lines. I should probably give it another episode or two, but I don't know if I will. It really is just part of the plot of Major League?
I decided I will not watch the second season of The Morning Show. I didn't like the first season enough to give the second season a shot.

The show really hits its stride about midway through season 1. Lots of great pop culture references so you probably won't get those given you haven't seen many popular movies.

I watched episodes 2 - 4 last night. It has sufficiently captured me so I will finish this season.
It has a lot of quick, funny lines that I forget almost instantly.
