Andruw Jones, Andres Galarraga, Javy lopez, and John Smoltz each added a pair of hits. On the mound, Smoltz worked eight innings allowing just four hits (all singles) with 12 strikeouts.

Along with the Williams homer, the Braves got a solo shot from Michael Tucker earlier in the contest. Dennis Martinez worked two innings of relief for the win.
