The wife and I were looking for a movie to watch on NYE and she just said to pick the first movie that pops up on Amazon Prime, which happened to be "I'm Your Woman" starring Rachel Brosnhan or something, the woman who is the star of that Mrs. Maisel show. Anyways, it was pretty good. Kind of a weird small psychological crime thriller. Had zero expectations coming in so I was entertained. I think the only person in the entire movie who I had ever watched in anything before was Commissioner Burrell from The Wire.
We watched some truly fucking dreadful children's movies on NYE/NYD. The Christmas Break-In and Pants on Fire. Do not watch either of these films under any circumstances.
We also watched Goonies on NYE before the terrible break in movie, so that was nice at least. But then Pup 2 was scared of "that creepy looking thing" and didn't want to watch anymore, so I went in the other room with him and watched The Christmas Chronicles 2 on Netflix. It wasn't bad!

The kids watched Soul. They bitched about it in the beginning but ended up really liking it.

We watched that on Christmas Day. I dozed off for a bit in the middle, but that's not an indictment on the film; that's just me following in the family tradition of dad falling asleep on the couch every single time we all watch something together. It seemed like a pretty good flick.
I watched "Jojo Rabbit" last week because if you can combine Hitler with comedy, I'll be there for it.
I think that it was probably a touch overrated but there were some outstanding audible laughs. Recommended to people who understand things.
I was semi-interested in this for the Hitler/comedy angle as well, and I think I DVR’d it even though I’m sure there are ways to stream it elsewhere for free, but haven’t gotten to it yet. I guess I’ll delete it now after reading your last sentence.

Soul was ok. I got mad in retrospect at a review I read before watching that said they shouldn't have cast Tina fey if they were going to put her in a black man's body because of whatever that's called, placeism I guess. And then I watched the movie and the soul is literally formless and actually says it chose her voice to be annoying. So...yeah, great review, random Yahoo critic who I will not go look up to confirm and from whom I will accidentally read another bad review eventually.
Also I have begun watching WW84 and I agree with all the critics so far, it's bad and Gal is hot.

Even Howard hated WW84 and he likes all of those superhero movies and wants to be woke as much as he can.

I read that as Evan Howard at first and had no idea who that was.

I watched this tonight. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Smart and funny throughout (I legit LOL’d double digit times I think), while also being a good story that was simultaneously sweet, happy, and sad. You obviously watch way more movies than I do, but this was the best thing I’ve seen in a few years. Will watch again.
Also I was pleased to learn the girl who played Elsa was born in 2000. She’s like, really pretty and stuff. She’s a bordt and could pass for 14, but w.e.
Watched Blackkklansman last night. Solid flick, good performances, etc, etc. Spike still makes some weird directorial choices that can be oft-putting, but generally he made this one pretty straight forward. Would recommend. Also, I had no idea that Buscemi's brother was an actor.
