That sounds interesting, I didn't know they even made that movie.
Speaking of movies I didn't know they made, I saw that this week's Rewatchables was "Shot Caller" starring Jamie Lannister. Prison movie that came out a few years ago. Figured I'd skip this one but then Simmons happened to bring it up to Russillo on his podcast and Russillo talked about how much he loved it. Saw it was on Netflix, figured I'd check it out...and it's really good? Not sure exactly why it got zero traction whatsoever but I enjoyed it, solid prison movie, good performances, sticks the landing pretty well. Pretty fucking bleak at times but overall, worth a watch.

Sounds pretty decent. Also maybe if we’re doing 2017 Netflix movies that no one has heard of, the rewatchables may have run its course.

You gotta pull out all the stops for Rock Bottom Month!
Also, I don't think it was an actual Netflix movie, fwiw. Iono though.
My 4 year old daughter has watched it twice and loves it and will likely watch it a couple dozen more times. I trust your review more than hers.
it's better than the Frozens (not a difficult task), longer than it needs to be by about 15 minutes, could have been better, could have been worse, there are worse things to have stuck on repeat (looking at you Paw Patrols)

I watched Shot Caller this weekend. I enjoyed it. Not great, but pretty good.
The one thing I agreed with Chris Ryan said during the podcast that I think it would have been better if it was shown in chronological order.

I think that sentence would have been better if the words were in chronological order.

lol
I also found it kind of weird that they didn't mention the fact that Money's best friend was Schmidt from New Girl. That may have been more jarring to me than the smuggling things up their ass scenes.
Did some random movie watching on my sabbatical this weekend:
Aliens--I'm not entirely sure I had seen this one all the way through. Enjoyed. Crazy how different it is from the original (which I prefer slightly). I was entertained.
The Iron Claw--Well acted but kind of pointless I guess? The story of the Von Erich family is crazy but also I'm not entirely sure it needed to be a movie. The youngest brother's story was rough. The dude from the Bear is WAY too much of a midget to be Kerry (so is Efron but at least he's jacked). I remember being blown away finding out that he had wrestled without a foot for years. In any case, good movie, probably won't rewatch it. Holy shit the dude who played Flair was awful.
Dune Part 2--Enjoyed this one, some great action scenes, plot made sense for the most part, actors were uniformly good.

yeah as someone who ackshually watched world class on TV in Philly in 1985-1986ish…..lol.
Zac as Kevin was fine height wise, he was the shortest of the three. The 5’5” Kerry though was just outright stupid. Everyone hated Mike Von Erich when he wrestled. He was too skinny and dumb to be believable. I didn’t know about Kerry missing the foot while he was alive. They did a great job of covering that up while he was active. Look how hammered he is in this match….. youtu.be/W8XhLyaHovg?si=c9BFpODiAmW2CFJS
