Continuing my Cleveland documentaries on Netflix series I am watching this:
It is about the Cleveland autoworker that was accused of and had a war crime trial of being Ivan the Terrible a Nazi death camp guard in Poland.
I remember the story being covered when I was in high school and college, but I never paid really close attention to it. The whole thing is pretty crazy. Could have had more focus on Cleveland. Former local news anchor Ted Hendry is prominently feature. UEM knows who I mean.
I still have to finish the last episode, but this is a strong rec for those that enjoy history.
{Spoiler} Through the first three episodes, I thought he was not the death camp guard. However, when he took the stand in the 4th episode, I changed my mind. However, at the end of the 4th episode it is revealed that there is evidence in Russia/Ukraine which exonerates him. Who knows?
That was a pretty good doc
I watched the last episode. After the trial and verdict in Israel it slows down a bit, but I get they have to finish the story. The last episode was the least interesting of the series.
I don't know if he was Ivan the Terrible, it is possible, but there is no question in my mind that he was a Nazi death camp guard who committed some pretty horrific acts.
I watched the Woodstock '99 documentary. I found it really entertaining, but disagreeing with a lot of what the people contributing with interviews said.
The end did seem pretty bad, with the fires. However, everything else seemed like issues that would be likely encountered putting 450,000 at a venue, like let's say the original Woodstock.
One woman who attended said when she walked in she noted that the attendees were a lot of white males. There is no way she thought that in 1999.
I agree with BSMB, that Moby was a clown in this. I think he was most upset that he wasn't included on one of the signs, so he trashed the whole thing.
Wesley Morris was kind of crazy too. Him saying what would Black attendees think of the mostly white crowd singing back to DMX's lyrics. Then they cut to the crowd showing Black guys enjoying it.
They also pushed the misogyny angle of the concert and then showing clips of the audience enjoying female performances.
I couldn't believe I didn't really remember anything about this event.
I watched the first hour or so of Get Back and it is fantastic.
So far my favorite parts are when George suggests things and John and especially Paul just kind of ignore him. A few times Paul gets annoyed and makes John agree with him on something against George.

I heard a theory by Bill Maher this week from 3-5 years ago that he thinks that, i forget. Jon Lennin was upset that they kept putting their hits on singles rather then albums and they didnt listen to him. Maher listed several hits by these poofs that were not on albums, hey jude being one of them. Anyway something along those lines is why he left the Beatles.

I finished this Beatles doc. It was really good. It drags during parts of episode 2. I thought the roof top concert at the end would be anticlimactic, but all of the footage they have makes it very entertaining.
Pretty crazy that the Beatles are performing a free concert, and people are bitching.

I watched this yesterday. I didn't realize this was new.
1. Why did they do this? HBO literally just did the same thing. 2. It was quite similar to the HBO one, but less racist towards whites. It was about the rage of young white men into Limp Bizkit, but they didnt quite get to the point of calling it raging racists. They blamed Fred Durst again on this one...for doing Limp Bizkit songs. 3. This show is worth watching. I watched bc im a loser that still listens to this music, I love it.
Complaint: - Literally the TWO parts I wanted to see, they talked over. They tee'd up Blind and Break Stuff, and talked over the best parts of the live music! Let it breathe, idiots.
Note: - Good nudity, mostly chicks. - They talked of an R of a passed out, clearly underage girl. I didn't know Pete Rose was there.
