Gehrig should be #1 IMO. As I believe Keith Olberman rightfully pointed out before he went insane...Lou Gehrig's Disease doesn't kill people quickly. Gehrig's last full year he hit .295/29/115, more than likely playing with actual symptoms of the disease.
