If you are dead-set on a QB in the first, you have to take Fields.
If you think that Trask will make it to the second round, I like that pick.
Yeah, there will be some other guys out there later (Trask, Jones) but if there's already noise about Bridgewater's faults then I can't help but think they'll go QB early. There's holes all over the roster but the biggest investment in this staff is on the offensive side (Joe Brady) so you have to think that's where they go first.
i think Brady (but more importantly Rhule, since it would appear Brady will be here for one more year at best) needs a QB who can do the reads in under 3 seconds and have the ball out on target. Bridgewater can sling it but he is slow (in relative terms) to make his decision and it constantly costs this offense. he and Watson have to be the NFL leaders in taking coverage sacks. I think that probably makes Fields the wrong pick for this team, and agree Trask is ideal as far as the draft pick options go.
Side note, these receivers are so much better than they were last year. I would have cut both Moore and Samuel last year, this year they look like real NFL WRs. I'm really impressed with this coaching staff, i have a lot of hope that with some good decisions in the draft and free agency they will quickly be in contention.

Trask looks better this year but I remember watching last year and thinking he didn't have the arm to be a really good SEC QB. Obviously that was wrong, but he's also got a stud TE to bail him out of a lot of situations.
ETA: What's his nuts, the BYU guy is apparently a big time riser.

i mean if we're looking for a big time riser the only guy who can top Teddy is Nick Foles

I fired Marty Hurney as GM. I think this is a wise decision. I assume we will start XFL MVP PJ Walker for the remainder of the season and try to get a top 5 pick. Will 4-12 get a top 5 pick? Jets, Jags, Bengals, Falcons/Panthers/Texans. I think I "win" the tiebreaker with the Falcons based on point differential (split the games, same SOS). Guess I am a big Texans fan now*.
*the dolphins get the Texans pick.

That win over football team dropped me from 4th to 9th. Great job playing spoiler, boys, well worth it.

i mean.... really played your asses off to beat Haskins
I had forgotten about the Sir Purr conversation (I believe it was referenced on the old site). In any case, I enjoyed the reminder:
Mark Schlereth brought it up during the broadcast yesterday too. Robbie Anderson has been all around surprisingly great. Best moment of the shitty season, extremely productive receiver, surprisingly healthy for a tiny guy, etc. I was very wrong about him, but in my defense he was coming from the Jets and you just assume you aren't getting anything good when they're coming from the Jets.
Yokel what do you think they do with Teddy B? It's clear they're not high on him being the long term answer since they took him out of the season finale. I forget what they're on the hook for with him contract wise for next season but hopefully they can get out of it pretty easily.

if he plays another down for Carolina i think it'll be because whatever plan they had for QB in 2021 fell through. His style does not fit what Rhule is trying to run. But there's not much in free agency that we can afford and the draft is a crapshoot so...he might be our QB in August.

You just gave me a clue, a raging one.
August - I am envisioning sports being 50% back to normal by then, and that would be great. It would, how you say, rhule?

It appears that I am considering backing the truck up for Deshaun. This would please me...however it is a little bit confusing because he is not an ideal fit for what it looks like Rhule is trying to do with the quick pass offense. I guess if Roethlisberger can figure it out at 38, Watson can do it too, but he holds on to the ball for a loooooooooong time back there.
