Amusing story I heard recently:
A couple of months ago there was a tournament in Vegas.
A guy at the table is telling everyone how he is reading the Harry Potter series for the first time and is on the third book and he just absolutely loves the series.
Anoway, maybe an hour later the guy reading HP puts a disgusting bad beat on another guy to knock him out of the tournament.
The guy who got knocked out stood up, looked Harry Potter guy in the eyes and stated:

A dude I know is in the final 10 of the Gladiator tournament at the WSOP. it is the 2nd biggest tournament in poker history with a little over 23,000 entrants. Entry fee was only $300.
10th place is $36,487. First place is almost $500K.

Pretty solid return on a $300 investment. Good luck to your dude.

How long does a 23000 person tournament take?
Today is Day 3. They had 4 different Day 1's. The people who advanced to Day 2 all played yesterday. They got down to 14 players last night who came back for the final day today.
Looks like they are down to the official final 9 and are going to go live on PokerGo shortly for the rest of the day. I'm too cheap / and not really interested in watching poker so I don't have that streaming service.
But he is in 6th in chips of the final 9. Guaranteed at least $46,051 now.
Had another friend who busted out in 90th place yesterday (only paid $4150). He's been on a roll lately. Took 3rd at the WSOP Southern Indiana main event in mid May for $23K and won a $400 nightly tournament at the WSOP a week ago for $23K.
I hope this is a stupid question, but is there a trans issue in professional poker? Megyn was rattling off all the sports being affected by this shit: swimming, volleyball, track, poker, etc
That would prove woman’s brains are inferior also 🥴

At the WSOP main event less than 4% of the entrants were women.
I saw a story a few months ago where at a women's poker tournament, in Florida I think, you can enter if you check the box you are a woman and some guy did that and won.
