I actively disliked a number of those movies listed, I agree.
I'd throw 2008 out there as a recent: The Dark Knight Quantum of Solace Iron Man Wall-E Taken Valkyre Role Models Tropic Thunder Gran Torino Forgetting Sarah Marshall In Bruges Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist Pineapple Express Sex Drive Step Brothers
Agreed. I still think 84 warrants inclusion. And I forgot 39 was GWTW AND Wizard of Oz. I doubt there is another year with two transcendent movies like that at the top of their list.
Sorry, Flush. GWTW is not transcendent; it is canceled.

I'm just glad that she's discerning enough to accept that many dongs without a bad one
It's adorable that you think 2008 is the full list.
I've been informed that the counting is complete, the totals are final, and to attempt to overturn this certified number is racist/sexist/homophobic/unamerican/antidemocracy

I choose 1999 as best movie year.
Also, I would harbor no ill will for choosing ventura over dumb and dumber. Both deserving in any other year. One of my peons says "take care" every time he hangs up the phone and I reflexively finish it with "bye bye then."
Prompted by a discussion in the shoutbox. This list is limited by the movies I have seen.
5. Soap Dish
I remember that I saw this movie, and I thought it was funny. I remember nothing else about it.
4. Grand Canyon
Not a great film. It had its moments. It is kind of like a Crash for the early 1990s.
3. Dave
Should be really stupid, but instead is funny and entertaining. Loses points for getting a little preachy.
2. The Big Chill
I enjoy this movie quite a bit. Great cast, lots of subtle funny lines. Oddly enough Kevin Kline is close to the least memorable one in this movie. Jeff Goldblum and William Hurt really are the best in it.
1. Fish Called Wanda
One of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Almost everything Kevin Kline says in this movie is worthy of at least a sensible chuckle.
