76's automatic out portion of his softball coaching story reminded me of my own little league story.
When I was playing youth baseball, 12 years old I think, we were playing the best team in the league. That team was managed by this crazy mom. She would get ejected multiple times a season. I have told this story before but in one game I pitched she came out to yell at the umpire who was calling the game from behind the mound about balls and strikes. She said something to the effect of, "This kid sucks, and you are making him look great."
At the game at issue our 3b got injured in the 6th inning and had to come out of the game. We were down by 1 heading into the bottom of the 7th. First two guys of the inning get out, and I come to the plate. Our 3b bats behind me. Coach tells her pitcher to intentionally walk me. We call timeout to see if the 3b can stand in the left handed side of the batter's box while I try to steal all the bases after being walked. Our coach won't allow it. So after ball 4 I run to first and keep going and get thrown out close to 2b.
Pretty bush league for a youth baseball game if you ask me.

The team we play tomorrow for the championship is not good and I have no idea how this team we played Wednesday had lost enough games to be the fourth seed.
We are in white, my daughter is 55. If you are wondering about heights of the players the girls that jump center are 5’11” and 6’1”. So this is a reasonable approximation of girls basketball.
