I have promoted Connor Shaw to QB coach. Bobo did it mostly as fan service, Shaw is a god. It even worked on me a little bit and i hate everything right now.
Here is my insane suggestion as a know-nothing smooth-brained fan:
Make Shaw or Marcus Lattimore the head coach. No experience to speak of, running a power 5 team in the SEC. Spend money on the OC and DC. Basically i'm saying pull a Dabo here and have a cheerleader/recruiter as head coach with career assistants doing the gameplans and day-to-day. I swear if you go inside my brain and look at this idea it's not that bad. Sort of hinges on having Brent Venables and Tony Elliot as your assistants, which i will stipulate is a very large leap to make, and assistants with that kind of skill/pedigree are maybe not disposed to work for a kid...but what if they did! Anyway, that's my dream, Shaw HC, Marcus Freeman DC, Tony Petersen OC. we can get Marcus Freeman to come be DC from Cincy and not take one of 30 head coaching jobs he'll be offered this year, shut up.

Now 4 players have opted out including both starting cornerbacks.

Yeah, Mukammu and Horne are probably first rounders (somehow we have 2 first round CBs and a poor secondary, defensive specialist will muschamp, everybody!). I am pulling for a couple more covid cases in mizzou to cancel this game. Bet the over if it plays.

can't wait to get my shit pushed in by Georgia tonight.
appears i am leaning towards hiring Shane Beamer. OU assistant, previously an assistant at USCe under Spurrier. He was a good recruiter. I like him but i don't think that's a particularly good hire. Still think the ULL coach is the best hire of the guys we have a practical chance at.

Wonder if VT will join that race

I was surprised when I saw you were 5-5 against Georgia in the last 10 games.

we are their kryptonite. every year where they were one game away (which is a LOT of years), if you look back it's a shitty loss to USCe early in the year that kept them out of the playoff/bcs. one of the few sources of pride remaining. HOWEVER...since they're not really in it this year i fully expect them to drop a 50burger on me.

Shane can recruit like hell UNLIKE THAT LAZY BASTARD FUENTE

Shane Beamer. Ok, sure, let's do it. My only concern is if he doesn't work out that's going to be a decade of bad, and you basically don't come back from that.

I was kind of curious of your reaction. I though that Louisiana coach could have been a good hire.
Basically for these hires you are throwing darts and hoping it works out. Good luck!

Yeah, Napier, Chadwell (Coastal) and beamer were all the same to me, good potential but ultimately a question mark. We weren't getting any of the sure things (I don't think we even tried actually, seems like the AD learned his lesson from the last time where he went after a bunch of names and they all said no and put us in a precarious spot that ended up with Muschamp)

I got Muschamp to agree to a contract adjustment last year, but forgot to get him to SIGN IT, so I owe him the full buyout instead of the renegotiated number. I am a trash fire inside a dirty diaper.
Yokel, thoughts on your QB transferring to Northwestern? That guy was a high recruit, but I guess didn't pan out. Ts.
he was extremely streaky but he did have D1 talent. based on how much better jeff driskel did after he got out from under Muschamp, i suspect Hilinski will do very well at northwestern.
