They are loosening the uniform number restrictions, doe.
How? Can Reggie Bush finally wear #5?
Yes. Bout fucking time.
The new structure allows defensive backs and linebackers to choose any jersey number from 1 to 49, while running backs, fullbacks, tight ends, halfbacks and wide receivers can pick from 1 to 49 and 80 to 89. Defensive linemen and linebackers can now sport numbers from 90 to 99.
I dont think I understand the last line. Doesnt sound right. I presume LBs can still wear 40s and 50s.

I knew the NY POST had to be wrong about the LBs. How could they not be allowed to wear in the 50s .
anyway from nfl.com
The expanded jerseys will allow running backs, tight ends, fullbacks, H-backs and wide receivers to wear numbers 1-49 and 80-89; defensive backs can choose from 1-49; linebackers 1-59 and 90-99; offensive linemen 50-79; and defensive linemen 50-79 and 90-99. QBs, kickers and punters will remain in 1-19.

I hope that Jalen Hurts goes back to number 2.
First off, he already he announced he was going to wear number 1 this year. Secondly, I took your original post to be the changes, as it mentioned nothing about offensive linemen etc

is there a reason for this? seems like only a con, potentially causes confusion. pros: none.

Pros: children who care about uniforms and such can get excited about another thing that has nothing to do with the actual product on the field.
