Ranking the recent NFL changes/news from truly awful to a minor inconvenience:
1. Removing the kickoff from the game - Yeah, it's not technically removing the kickoff from the game but we're seeing the game take a significant step toward flag football. They're already protecting offensive players for the sake of more points and making the game easier to watch for casual fans, but this is taking away one of the most exciting plays in football.
2. Thursday night flex - As someone (Jimmy Traina from SI?) noted on Twitter the last week or so this is most likely because Al Michaels complained about the quality of last season's Thursday games. From a viewer's perspective this makes the Thursday game more appealing, but I can't help but wonder how player safety isn't the primary concern here where it is with removing kickoffs.
3. Playoff game on Peacock - Meh. Sucks that they'll make one of the games nearly impossible to watch if you don't have Peacock but good news it won't affect the Browns because they're the Browns.
This was a pretty easy path to the AFC Championship and they still couldn’t do it.
Watching the postgame show I think Boomer might've made the comment that the Bills were lucky to even be in that position with the Chiefs fumble out of the end zone and not recovering the fumble earlier in that drive. If the Chiefs don't shoot themselves in the foot (with arrows amirite) they win that game by 2 scores. The Bills couldn't stop their offense.
And I think Warren Sharp made the point on twitter last night--why go for the big play on the last drive when you needed to burn clock by getting smaller chunks of yardage. Scoring too early just gives the Chiefs time to come down and win with the last possession. Just a brainfart of coaching and decision making all around.

I figured bass would Make the field goal and then butker hits one at the end too. Can’t leave a team time. Bad clock management by the bills even with the missed kick

I had no issue with going for the big play. You need to score, don’t get cute and assume you can do it in exactly the right amount of time.

I tweeted earlier in that drive the Bills shouldn't be playing for a FG. I've got enough scar tissue as a fan (see: end of Clemson/NC State in 2016) that when you've got the chance to take the kill shot you go for the TD. Never ever rely on a kicker to close the deal.
