I participated in my first fantasy baseball draft in over 15 years. My league in Columbus needed an extra player and with the magic of Zoom I was able to participate.
We do an auction draft, $260 for 23 players, so it takes for ever. Almost 8 hours. I was too careful with saving money for the end, so I had too much at the end and although could get anyone I wanted there wasn't much left.
I'd like to know the structure of a league that lets you start Anthony Rizzo at second, tbh.
In our league if a player plays a position in one game in the prior season or the current season he is eligible for that position. Rizzo played 2b for the Cubs in one game last season.
It's utterly absurd to do a fantasy baseball auction without the aid of a draft app in 2022. You can still have everyone get together to drink and socialize and such, but just use the ESPN/Yahoo software like a normal, and it's over in 3 hours.
