The problem with the Arthur Ashe courage award is they set such a high standard with it in the early years (Jimmy V) that they feel like they have to give it to someone every year now. The award became a publicity thing when they gave it to Bruce Jenner for tucking his weiner.
It's such a stupid fucking argument. "Equal pay for equal work" is just a lame catchphrase that's easy for simpletons to parrot but doesn't actually mean what it says (kinda like "black lives matter" and "my body my choice" and most of the other so-called progressive talking points). Yes, men and women are both playing soccer, but they're not doing equal work. If they were, they'd be playing against each other. Mens' soccer generates like 50x as much revenue as women's. They have a bigger pie, so each player gets a bigger slice. Why should they have to share that pie with people who didn't help make it? Also, what kind of pie?
