I think you can describe Clowney similarly to what you did there for Thibs though. He was a pretty productive NFL player most of his career even if he never turned into the monster 15 sacks per season guy. He certainly wasn't a bust. That's not a glowing endorsement for a #1 overall, though.
Hutchinson is Watt-esque, and not from purely a race thing. I wasn't that blown away by Watt in college though. As much of a beast as Gary turned into for the Packers this season, that isn't terrible production either.
You guys won't believe this but sometimes in the NFL, productivity is about fit and scheme
eta: only posted because pigeon toady makes me laugh, not to be a snarky dick
The Ringer has them taking Kyle Hamilton out of ND. Seems like top 10 safeties don't usually work out.
Yeah, I saw that when you posted their mock draft before. I don't like them taking a DB that high given there are many more holes on offense than defense--especially after taking a DB in the top 10 of last year's draft.

2 OTs and 2 edge rushers in the top 5 seem pretty much like a given at this point.
I don't like Linderbaum to the Falcons. He's really good in pass pro but if you're going to get full value out of Linderbaum, you gotta have a running game and let him bulldoze people.

I feel like centers are under appreciated in the NFL. If a team has a really good one, invariably the line as a unit plays well.
I think Howell has the best chance to be the steal of the draft at QB at this point because I don't think he'll go in the 1st at this point.
His size comps to Drew Brees but he plays more like Big Ben when he came into the league. His main issue is going to be the ability to slide or avoid contact because if he runs and takes as much contact as he did in college he'll be damaged goods in 3 years.

Do you feel that if Detroit goes QB at 2, that a run on QBs will happen in round 1?
Im told that if Detroit takes a qb, it will begin chaos!

Can you imagine?
I can't imagine. Detroit ain't taking a QB at 2. There might be 3 QBs taken in the first round (Willis, Pickett, Howell) but I don't think any of them will go top 5. Howell probably sneaks in to the end of the first round so a team gets that extra rookie year on their first contract.
