We enter our final game of the season tonight having been eliminated from postseason contention with a 2-6 record.
We are playing a 3-win team who we are favored to beat but it should be a pretty close game.
Our challenge tonight is that both the head coach and the D-line coach will miss the game due to illness. This should be quite interesting.
For the first time since 2018, I'll be calling the game from the sidelines and I'll be the acting head coach handling game management. Our O-line coach will double as the D-line coach and our DB guy will call the defense, also coming down from the box.
Fellas, anything could happen.

I wish you all the best in your return to head coaching duties, if only on an interim basis. Hope the other coaches are OK, too. Go Cavs!

Just to clarify, I've never been a head coach, just an OC.
Nerves are fraying.

Previous coach is a good guy but he let the program run stale.
The school is basically the crown jewel of Chesapeake, VA. They have one of the highest populations in the area (if not the highest):
There is a slight downturn in the number of athletes but that is made up for by sheer numbers and resources (richest population in the area, lots of military big wigs, etc....). Big money.
There most notable alums are Olympic silver medalist Grant Holloway and Minnesota Vikings DE Patrick Jones.
I suspect that I will move further away from four-wide formations and more into 11, 20, and two-tight formations. Ground and pound with some play-action.
My current QB will likely transfer to us and my current RB likely will, if he can.

What does "transferring" entail for high school football players? Is this like a school choice thing, or does the family have to move in order for the kid to play at a different school?

Family has to move.
Our qb's older brother did it by just moving out with his dad to an apartment in the different zone. Mom has already told head coach that if he leaves, the qb leaves.
RB's dad said, "he's not going to play for anyone else". Not sure if they will be able to move or not.
