Day 1: drove 3 hours to KC. Stayed the night at my brother's house. I am no longer the coolest ever to his kids. They'd much rather watch their tablets than get up to crazy antics with Uncle IMS.

Day 2: woke up at 5:45. Drive 9.5 hours to Black Hawk, Colorado. Casino town in the mountains. Got situated in my hotel for next 4 nights. Played 2.5 hours of poker until my energy level crashed. Left up $535.

Day 3: got very little sleep at the hotel. Played poker anyways. Got up close to $600 early on. Finished down $597.

Lost about $700 on:

Bad old player raises $20. Two calls. I call with 22.

9s8s2x flop. Different old guy leads $25. I flat. Original old guy guys to $50. 2nd guy calls. I bump it to $150. They both call. 9 on turn. Checks to me. I bet $200. Original raiser jams $490. Other guy folds. Lose to 98.

I guess Monday and Tuesday, I'll be at Grand Canyon. I moved the trip up from November because it'll get up into the low 70's at some point. I'd rather hike out of the canyon when it is warm than cold.

95% sure this is the hike I'm going to do:

Most people say it is a 14.5 mile hike with 3500 feet of elevation gain.

Longest hike I've done on this trip has been 12 miles. Highest climb has been 2200 feet.

I'd like to go all the way to the bottom some day. But it's another 1400 feet of elevation change.

Yesterday the final mile of climbing kicked my ass. Had to take frequent 5 minute breaks as I was out of gas. Probably didn't help I only got 3 hours sleep the night before.

Surprisingly not sore today. Just tired. Most of that is probably from sleeping in a hotel and I forgot to bring my pillow down from Vegas.
