The wife and I watched Spenser Confidential on something, Netflix maybe? Watched a lot of Spenser for Hire in college because my roommmate liked the show, so decided to go with the update. Stars Mark Wahlberg, the huge guy from Black Panther as Hawk, and that kind of trashy blonde comedienne that you guys seem to enjoy as the love interest, which I thought was an odd pick. Oh, and Alan Arkin. In any case, it was fine. Pretty dumb a lot of the way through. Wahlberg is legitimately the worst famous actor of all time and I'm not sure anyone is in his vicinity. Very very very soft rec.
Arkin has a way of delivering lines that makes me laugh whether intended or not. Almost every line in every movie.
Isn't it a little racist to call it Black Friday? - Joy Behar

Agreed. I'm not even 100% sure who his character was supposed to be, but I enjoyed the performance.
Kristen Stewart is easily the worst successful actor I’ve ever seen. She’s also not hot enough to make up for her lack of acting ability. Why the fuck is she famous?
Watched a film on Netflix called Friendsgiving. Truly awful garbage. It was supposed to be a semi raunchy female comedy, I think. I dont know how this made it to the small screen.
Kat Dennings got fat as fuck and so did Christine Taylor.

Wahlberg is great in The Departed. That's all I got.
Nice reunion of Wire folks - Frank Sobatka and D'Angelos mom
I watched this with my wife last night. It wasn't good. I nodded off a few times, so that may have influenced my thoughts, but none of it really made any sense. Just a dumb movie, all around. She seemed to kinda like it, I think.
Watched Taxi Driver over a couple nights. It was pretty good I suppose. 70s flick so it felt really slow. Didn’t realize Albert Brooks was in it, that threw me. Also as I mentioned in the shoutbox, holy hell Cybil Shepherd was hot back then. Great performances from DeNiro and Keitel, Jodie Foster’s part was just disturbing. It was just kind of slow, I get why it was a big deal but I didn’t feel like a hole in my cinema-viewing life was somehow magically filled by watching it.

The Irishman was better on the rewatch. It’s not goodfellas but I’d put it on par with the departed. The de-aging is distracting, I’m sure that will get better in future movies. Also, Al Pacino sucks. Other than that, great flick.
