The cast is pretty spectacular as Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie, and Brian Tyree Henry all show up. Yet, somehow it was just not good. There's some spoilery twists and turns that are telegraphed a mile and a half away so watch it with your wives so you can look like a hero when you call the shots.
It's not good though.
Hard rec for balls.
I read the book last month after hearing some buzz about the show. I got to the BIG twist about the protagonist, and just quit and read what happened. So pretty much a no on the book, too. Not sure how Adams does with the role but the protagonist is annoying in the book too.
I have no idea who Gary Oldman would be playing in this. Pretty sure I can guess the rest. Mackie's the husband I assume, so Oldman must be the neighbor husband?
I watched Bad Trip on Netflix. It's directed by the guy who did Jackass, stars Eric Andre, basically a prank show stretched out to a full movie. Pretty funny though. Worth wasting some time on it.

{Spoiler} I thought it was well written and even though I found the main character annoying, I was fairly into it. Then when I realized the kid was dead, I figured, nah I'm good.

Please be careful saying you liked Bad Trip. PJ attacked me over me liking it to get Greg pets. It was funny.

That's fair. I might check out the movie anyway, just cause it's impossible to find something the wife and I are both interested in watching. She read the book too, so she'll probably want to watch it.

Oh. I didn't know to click on spoiler. This site is wacky.
I won't even make fun of you for not knowing how to use websites. That's a completely valid complaint. It should look like a link or something so you know to open it.

i won an argument with my white about this. she claimed they were definitely gay and i said it was a story for children, there is not and should not be a sexual connection to their relationship. Looked it up and whatta ya know, the director said exactly that. Just a couple of fishes that turn into humans as long as they're dry. anyway, if we're making assumptions about characters in that movie's sexual preference, i think the bully was clearly gay and just needed someone to clear out his butthole once or twice and he'd have been cool. Loves scarfs, way too into cycling, dismissive of the only woman in the group? Ironclad fmaggot.
