I don't know why this one caught my eye because ESPN's twitter account is generally pointless. But anyway, thoughts on this topic?
I agree that we'll never see most of these broken, but the Cy Young complete games record is far and away the most untouchable. This is an absolutely ludicrous number that looks made up, and is essentially from a different sport. No one will ever reach 10% of this total. There is not one single active pitcher in the league averaging more than 2 CG per season for his career.
I doubt anyone will stick around long enough to get there, but with the way the game is played now I don't think it's impossible to see someone catching Rice's yardage record.

The Rice one does look to be the most likely, if any.
And LOL at the UConn one. Sure, it's impressive, but who cares?

Kinda surprised they didn't throw a 'USWNT wins back to back WWC titles' in there as well.
Rice's record will be broken at some point because of the extra game per season (and most likely 2 extra games if Roger the Clown gets his way). Justin Jefferson is the most likely candidate right now but the thing about Jerry Rice is that he stayed relatively healthy (outside of the ACL injury).
The Cy Young and Cal Ripken records are the most likely to not be broken imo.
Katie Ledecky is within shouting distance of Phelps right now and as soon as we can get a trans into the womens' pool in the Olympics, his record will be shattered.
UConn's record is gone as soon as we can get three trans on the same team in college.
Future generations will come to believe that Cy Young was a cyborg.
I really don't get why they put Gretzky's assists instead of points. He's got more assists than anyone has points so not only do you have to (probably) break his assists record but also score a good 800 goals.
No one's breaking Cobb's .366 career BA, Cy's wins, Nolan's no-nos, either.
