I said it before but that Illinois team and the UNC team that beat them in the championship were so much better than the rest of the country that year. Illinois wins the championship every other year but unfortunately drew an all time UNC team in the same season.
Florida carries a 42-41 lead into the half. The two played even basketball for most of the second half with the score was 81-77 with 3:09 to go. Patrick Ewing and Michael Jackson scored back-to-back buckets to push the Hoyas out to an 85-77 advantage with 2:17 to play. The Gators never got closer than six the rest of the way out.

After a defensive stop, Hill scores again to give Duke an 84-83 lead with 42 seconds to play. Carmelo Travieso hits a three for UMass, 86-84 Minutemen. Grant Hill scores on a reverse, 86-86. Dana Dingle hits a shot from the wing with two seconds to play. 88-86 UMass. Grant Hill scores on a dunk at the buzzer.

Duke scores the first five, 93-88. UMass cuts it to 104-102 with 35 seconds to play. The Devils finish with a 8-3 run to win.
