Pup 2 is on a Zoom right now. The teacher read some book about animals, and then asked if anyone had any questions about the book. This one little twat raises her hand and says, "I had an allergic reaction to a Band-Aid, so my arm is sore." There's no possible way I could avoid being an asshole to that kid. And she has to hear shit like this about 900 times a day, mostly from that one annoying little bitch who never shuts up. Christ, I'd lose my goddamn mind.

Mr. Mags finally went back to school in person (hybrid Mon/Tue, Thur/Fri, Wed - remote) after about 2.5 months home. He said he had 0 kids in person in his first block.

I don't think you're over-dramatic at all. My kids have been fortunate to have mostly in-person school this year, but I think you're absolutely right that this year has set education way back in general.
Also I'm not a doctor but I'd be willing to bet that poor people have suffered even more. Which means - you guessed it - remote learning harms black and brown people even more than it harms whites. But re-opening schools is an example of white supremacy. Got it.

One of the school district forums I used to be in is one of those fraud types that "encourages healthy dialogue and differing opinions", until you have the audacity to ask why the kids are still hybrid and why there's no plan to return full time. At that point you don't believe the science and are bashing teachers and, yes, a Nazi Trumper. There is no in between with these people. You can want your kids back in school, where the science says they will be safe, and you can also believe it can be done safely.
My district told us back in November they would re-examine the hybrid model. Of course, that would mean we'd have hope for a full return this school year. Cases *should* be low by then, vaccines should be rolling out, at least first doses.......so who wants to wager on this happening?
