Like the true-crime bestseller by Jon Krakauer that it’s based on, Under the Banner of Heaven connects two stories separated by over a century. One traces the tragedy of Brenda Wright Lafferty (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a woman who had married into a prominent Utah Mormon family, and who was found murdered along with her infant daughter in 1984. The other is a chronicle of the early Mormon church that stretches back to its founding by Joseph Smith (Andrew Burnap) in the 1820s, but that places its emphasis less on divine inspiration than human sin and struggle.
I read the book right before I moved to Utah, and it was fascinating. I would watch this, but it is on Hulu. At some point Hollywood is going to realize it is doing itself a disservice by releasing their projects on one streaming service, especially one with a limited subscriber base like Hulu.

You realize they do this to drive subscriptions, right?

Kind of a "how-to" book for you, then?

I went to cancel Hulu earlier bc I'm pretty over TV. But they offered me $2.99/month for 6 months effective immediately, so I did that. I do want to watch the Steve Martin show once season 2 ends I guess. Season 1 was good.
I gotta think what other streaming services i have and dont use. Apple TV....am i paying for this or is it part of my iphone? Who knows.

Did you start season 2? Michael Rapaport makes some Stern references in the first ep.

I began this season. Not only Rapaport, but Amy Schumer is in it as a bad guy. What a cast!
Selena Gomez looks bloaty. Her head is really round. She looks like a South Park character. (nitpicking)
