I think it can be done fairly effectively, especially if they're not going to be too concerned with matching the book's end. I imagine it will be pretty open ended but I was always curious (book spoilers below)

BSMB,
Please watch and preview this show.
A group of teen girls from different backgrounds must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they've all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama… these girls did not end up on this island by accident.

Anyone else watched Good Omens? Pretty fun little show. Based on a Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman novel about the biblical apocalypse. Barty Crouch Jr and Michael Sheen are a demon and an angel who got used to living on earth over the past 4000 years and decide they want to try to stop armageddon. Have enjoyed muchly so far.

Yes, very much enjoyed. SUPER faithful adaption too. I read the book after and realized there wasn't any point because they got like 95% of the stuff into the show. Enjoyed it a lot. Greatly enjoyed the woman who plays Anathema Device.

yeah she is very attractive. She reminds me of the woman from Scandal except you know, whiter.
Anyone else watch City on A Hill? It was a Showtime series and is now on Amazon Prime.
I watched the first episode last night. It has Kevin Bacon playing an FBI agent in Boston in the late 1980s/early 1990s. There is a new black ADA, who encounters racism, and also a family that robs armored trucks.
It has a Departed/The Town feel, but the first episode did a nice job of setting up the story.
I guess there is a new season coming out next month.
I liked the first episode quite a bit, so it seems promising.
It was pretty good. Kevin Bacon does a good job. The story is a little all over the place. They set up things well, and the payoff fizzles a bit. They are making season 2, and the ending set up a new season pretty well.
Jill Hennessy looking old and worn out is sort of depressing.
After not making it through the first episode on my first try, I have restarted Yellowstone.
I am through the first 4 episodes of season 1. It is pretty good. I think it is taking a long time to set up everything. Also, sometimes I have a hard time following what is going on. They do not explain things very well. It is entertaining.
I can't figure out if Kevin Costner's daughter on the show is hot.
I am now through 7 episodes of the first season, and I can upgrade the show to strong recommendation for everyone. Even bsmb, I think.
The characters are now fully developed and they have good storylines. It sometimes veers toward the Ozark improbable line, but not as bad.
There is an added bonus for me because they film at some spots in Park City I have been at. In the last episode they were at this place, where I have dined a few times:
They introduced a new character, a campaign manager. I am a big fan:
