I finished the season this afternoon. Clearly they’re setting up a movie, which I will see in theater. Overall the season ended quite well. I have some thoughts on what’s gonna happen going forward once you guys all finish it. I will say I’m glad they didn’t end it like Sons Of Anarchy.
I am prepared for your thoughts.
It took a couple eps to hit its stride, but overall still a very enjoyable season. Agreed that they did a good job with the ending. I don't know that I have any real prediction for the movie, but I'm obviously gonna watch it. The Nazi chick (Diana? Yeah, that sounds right) might have been my least favorite character in the whole series. I mean, you're supposed to hate her so I guess that means she's a good actress, but her character bothered me to the point where I couldn't even enjoy her scenes.
{Spoiler} My only real gripe was what they did with Finn. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but his actions in that scene that ended wih him getting kicked out of the family... I don't know, it just seemed out of character. I know he was never in as deep as the rest of them, but that whole thing felt kinda forced to me.

I have started episode 4. Episode 3 had a good section that reminded me of the Old Peaky Blinders:

{Spoiler} Yeah the dead daughter stuff was a lot. It ends up working in the whole context of the story, but I agree with you that they dragged out the gypsy stuff too long. Just get back to your bread and butter, as Balls would say.
I didn’t get the Finn/Billy ending either. My wife got it, she must’ve been paying closer attention. But those two basically got Polly and Aberama Gold killed so they deserved their fate.

Oh did they? I didn’t recall that detail either. I guess maybe I’m ok with it, but the whole thing seemed weird to me at the time.

The end of last season, Finn told Billy they were gonna assassinate Mosley, and then Billy called the IRA.
I'm only one season in so I'm not trying to pay much attention to this thread, but that last mention and my watching Season 1 this week reminded me that the IRA was a great plot device for basically anything set from 1910-1990.

Agreed. This show also uses Churchill a good bit. I wish they would’ve had more of that this season. The guy that played him was great. But it’s weird to have a fictional show that involves real life, well known people like Churchill and Mosley.
I am through episode 4 of the final season. I don't know how you guys can think this season is good. They use filler so much to make the episodes longer. They make a scene last 5+ minutes when it can last 2.
Really hoping these last two episodes turn it around.
I’m on season 2, Alfie Solomons is such a great character. I don’t mind they brought him back from the dead.
I finished Season 2 last night. I didn't even know Tom Hardy was on this show. He's great.
I was pretty shocked that Sabini made it out of the season alive. Less so that Campbell didn't. I also wonder what the deal was that they didn't bring back the Commie guy and killed him off. They took all the trouble of springing him from jail at the end of Season 1 and then he just never reappears.
Surprised that Polly's son works as well as he does for a character. Not a lot of misses overall with the cast. Murphy is great as Tommy, no idea who the actors are that play John & Arthur.
I barely even try to listen to the dialogue, I basically just read the subtitles.

I have given up on this season. I tried to watch episode 5 and it did not come close to holding my interest.

I would probably see the movie.
I can't imagine watching a show all the way through and just saying "fuck it" with 2 eps left. Even Balls would see it through at that point.

I can't either. However, I just have no desire. I was watching it and so bored. Maybe I will finish it, but I would rather watch something else. I labored to get this far.
