I listened to Nevermind yesterday. Great album. I think Come as you are is my least favorite song from the album. The non-singles, Drain You, Lounge Act, Breed, Polly are all amazing. Sometimes I think Nirvana is overrated, and they probably are in the great scheme of things, but that is an incredible album top to bottom.
Also - this is fun.
I agree it's a great album, but I have heard so many times I need to go months between listens.
Also, I still like In Utero better.
It has probably been over a year since I listened to it, so yeah I'm with you. Even with that, the first three songs all being singles that I've heard a million times was tough to get through, but that second half rocks.
In Utero is definitely more diverse and has more depth as a collection of music than Nevermind, which is basically just straight ahead grunge rock for 12 tracks. Maybe I'll revisit In Utero next.
A buddy of mine is into listening to vinyl and has a pretty nice set up. I've thought about starting a vinyl collection but I never get around to following through with it. You thinking of getting into vinyl?

Yeah, one of my partners has a nice set up, and watching The Last Waltz (x-post Movies thread) got me nostalgic for it.

BSMB's friend Gary in Connecticut is a big vinyl fan.

Fuck, all my friend Gary talks about is vinyl. Well, vinyl and chocolate.

I'm not sure where to start with getting a turntable--maybe Best Buy or something like that? Then start scouring second hand stores for vinyl. What type of music are you thinking you'll want to buy? Jazz/classical? Or pop stuff?

It'll be predominantly classic rock. Music from Big Pink will be my first purchase if I go that route.
Yeah, I looked on Amazon last night, a lot of them connect wirelessly to bluetooth speakers but others have speakers built in.

are you practicing telling people that the way that they are listening to music is not pure enough?
the woke BLM white girl i know posted that this song is the one she listened to most in 2020, at 159 listens. Ive never heard this song and i am not sure I have heard of this band! But I think they may of been on snl once.
