Like most of his teammates, Rod Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 during the summer. Although the cause of Johnson’s ailment was not immediately known, the coronavirus can lead to myocarditis, a viral infection of the heart muscle. At its most severe, myocarditis can lead to sudden cardiac arrest and has been a documented cause of death for young, otherwise healthy athletes.
The Southeastern Conference mandates strict protocols, including rigorous heart testing, before players can be cleared to return to play following positive COVID-19 tests.
The Patriot League canceled nonconference games this season, so Monday's game will be the first of the season for both Boston University and Holy Cross. The Terriers and Crusaders are scheduled to face each other six times this season.
As I mentioned in the shout box, I have been skiing a few times this year and a mask is required. I wore a cloth mask and it was fine, but on a few difficult runs it was sort of an issue. I can't imagine playing high level basketball with a mask on.
The Big 10 season is pretty interesting this year.
Michigan and Iowa are the class of the conference, but the next 5 of Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Ohio State and Minnesota are pretty good. Everyone other than Nebraska and Penn State are dangerous games as well.
They're still doing college basketball this season? I think this is the first time I can remember where I have lost interest as quickly as I have this season. Most of the blue bloods aren't any good and COVID has basically ruined any sort of rhythm the season would otherwise generate. And I have no clue who any of the good players are other than Garza at Iowa.
Add to that the uncertainty with how the tournament will be staged (how many teams will be included, conference tourneys, etc) and I just don't care about college basketball.

I am the opposite. I think Ohio State being decent has elevated my interest. The Big 10 is really entertaining with Illinois, Michigan, Iowa and Ohio State all very good.
Of course Michigan has paused all athletic activities including its basketball team because the track team had an outbreak.
