So basically our flight plan was CR -> Chicago -> Amsterdam -> Izmir and then the reverse on the way back. We got notice on Saturday that 3 of our legs were completely cancelled and now we would have a 22 hour layover in Amsterdam. So we completely scrapped our tickets and now we're doing direct from Chicago to Istanbul and then we'll get to Izmir from there. More expensive, which sucks, but holy shit far less headaches so I'm fully on board.

That sounds like way less of a hassle. Good luck.
Also can you still play basketball against middle school girls after losing those 3 legs? #Enter

On the other hand I could have planned a very fun 22 hours in Amsterdam.

One of my favorite places I have ever been.
Well, I would have 3 children, and based on my review of the guidelines, would possibly have to submit a negative COVID test after being there so................less fun.

mj3528: UEM, could we get a trip to Ohio so far recap post?
On Thursday, I flew from Norfolk to LaGuardia seated next to a cute black lady going to the Bronx. She had pretty eyelashes and we exchanged general chit-chat. During my layover, I enjoyed a turkey sandwich with mustard (regular, blech) along with some sea salt kettle chips and dark chocolate organic peanut butter cups. I paired that with a bottled water after enjoying cranberry while on the plane. I also ate pretzels with my black friend.
Not pleased with the legroom on the first flight, I upgraded to a better seat on the leg from LGA to Cleveland. I was in the first row behind first class and had several feet of leg room which was nice. I drank yet another cranberry drink but asked for the cookies instead of pretzels from the flight attendant who accompanied me on both legs of the journey. The seat next to me was empty for most of the flight, however, just before takeoff they re-arranged a bunch of people in order to "better distribute weight". Therefore, for the first 20 minutes of the flight, I sat next to a J with the hat thing and the beads on the belt. We did not speak.
My Trump-hating sister and my mother picked me up. We grabbed some chinese takeout to eat at my mom's place. She had sweet and sour chicken, I had sesame chicken. We watched the football game that evening.
On Friday, we watched television for pretty much the entire day including some bowl games. At some point, my mother brought her computer over to my recliner to ask me to fix it. When she walked away from the recliner, he foot was entangled in some cord and she fell flat. She was not injured. She made meatloaf for dinner but we did not eat it as each of us had the leftovers from our chinese meal which was yummy. I believe that I drank an A&W Root Beer with mine.
On Saturday, my nephew and I enjoyed the Spider-Man movie. Then we went back to my mom's and ate meatloaf with mac-and-cheese, and mixed vegetables. He had some ice cream for dessert but I did not. He stayed and watched the Pats-Colts thriller with me.
On Sunday, the entire family got together in Ashtabula, OH, except for Trump-hater who refused to come because not everyone there was vaxxed. I drank beers with my BIL and watched Pitt - Tit game. Then played Words Against Humanity game. One of my sisters did not know the word "queefing". She must not listen to Tuesday With Stories. We also played Left-Right-Center twice and I did not win either time. We had fun. All of my nieces now have boyfriends/girlfriends so there are extra people around who I do not know.
Throughout the course of the days, I have eaten many peanut butter blossoms because no Fig Newtons have been offered.
I just now helped my mom figure out how to watch live tv on the television. She will pick a game show, court TV, or some type of crime drama.

mj3528: UEM, how about an Ohio trip post, picking up where you left off.
On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I worked during the day. There is almost nothing for me to work on, so most of the days were spent screwing around on the internet. Did you see my posts on Reddit?
I went to see a house that would be available for rent should I move back home. It was a pretty nice 3 bdr with a basement and garage. The woman who owns it knows HTG. She also dates someone who knows my sister. Also, our fathers were friends.
HTG and I went out one night and enjoyed some sushi even though she is a vegetarian leading to us apliting some crappy tofu app. I powered through that in order to get to my eel rolls. I drank some sort of cider at the restaurant then she made us some chocolate martinis upon returning to her spot.
I had a lunch with the head coach of the high school. During that meeting, I ate a patty melt and fries which were good. He offered me the wide receiver positions spot and would want me to call the JV offense. In Ohio, the JV teams play at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings. His brother calls the plays for varsity so I would not ascend to that position though I am sure that I would be pretty heavily involved in gameplanning.
I received gifts for Christmas including Ohio State socks and hoodie. Also a gift certificate to Buffalo Wild Wings which I will use Wednesday after the Mount Union Purple Raiders basketball game with my nephew. There were also some framed restored photos of my father which I really like.
I watched some football games with my nephew, as well, dispensing coaching and career advice to him throughout.
I hung out with my eldest sister's family and extended people one night. We ate turkey and ham which disgusts Wolf, but makes for a mighty fine meal. There were two dogs there, Huey and Lucy, and I petted them both.
At my ex-SIL's house, I hung out with her two German Shepards, Cody and Marley. I thought that my time with Cody in July would have been my last as he is very old and not in great shape; however, we chilled together for a bit while watching the Chiefs roll the Steelers.
I think that I will be ordering some pizza from Altieri's tonight, a mom and pop shop with a storied reputation in Stow.
As always, my mother has some lunatic tendancies.

Sounds like some good times.
So are you leaning towards a no on the coaching position?
Lakewood High School started last season 4-0 beating arch rivals Rocky River and Bay Village. Just something for you to consider.

Yeah. I entered the trip thinking it was 50-50, but it's much more like 30-70 now. Most likely staying in Virginia. Should my head coach get the job at the better/bigger school, I'm almost a sure thing to stay then.
