I believe obesity is the #1 factor in people being hospitalized with Rona
This is true, but sorta misleading/meaningless. The study on that is going by the BMI defintion of obesity. IIRC, something like 73% of Americans are overweight or obese. And 78% of Covid hospitalizations are overweight or obese by the same definition.
I would imagine there's a correlation as you get even fatter, but the way this news was portrayed it was kinda like, "Hey fatties, stop being so fat and you won't get sick." But "fat" by BMI is an absurd number that's largely meaningless IMHO, and that 78% isn't way out of line with the total population so I'm not sure there's really much of a takeaway here.
What is their reason for anything? Evasion of reality.
I'm sure they say it's a thyroid problem. They all say that.
They have no willpower or self control and make eating decisions like they are 5 years old.
In their defense, I eat like a 5 year old and am only like 10 lbs “overweight”. Blaming it ALL on genetics or whatever is a copout, but I’m willing to believe it can be a factor in fatness regardless of your diet and exercise.

Do you eat ice cream sundaes every night? Tons of soda and fast food? But like, 3 big Macs not one.
