If they did that they should just name the team the A's and bring the Rays back as an expansion team if they build the stadium. I think Oakland basically stopped maitaning that stadium and fired everyone that works there. The time difference would also be an issue for TV. They didn't pay for the rights to air the "home games" at 10 PM local.

I think the hurricane broke it. Even the politicians who pushed for the stadium aren't willing to pay $50 mill of taxpayer money for a roof that's going to get torn down in a few years. People literally still have piles of debris from the storm in front of their house that hasn't been picked up yet.
If SLC will build, they will come.
I've said it before but if the owner wasn't a carpet bagger and actually moved here and became part of the community, he would have had the stadium wheverer he wanted in the area 10 years ago.
