mj3528: UEM, in the thread can you give your thoughts on the #tpt seasons so far?
Through 47 games, our beloved Guardians of Transportation have compiled a 30-17 record, third-best in the AL, fifth-best in baseball.
A strong +59 run differential ranks fourth in the league, impressing Theny.
The team puts the ball in play well as their strikeout rate is low and they've had a little bit of a surprising power surge this year. The .238 team batting average in concerning. David Fry has played well in limited duty so it may be time to get him some more at-bats. Estevan Florial and Ramon Laureano have been busts in the OF, so I'm in favor of making it Will Brennan's job at least until the AS break.
The pitching has been a strength especially the bullpen with Herrin, Gaddis, and Sandlin getting the game to Clase who is lockdown. I have some concerns that they can hold up like that throughout the entire season however. It's difficult to feel good about the Lively/Carrasco situation at the #4 spot, especially when the workhorse #1 is out for the year.
Losing three out of four to the White Sox was the beginning of a downfall, I thought, but they bounced back taking 2 of 3 from Texas then sweeping Minnesota so I'm willing to overlook that series now.
They can really make a statement here in the end of May with series against the Mets, Angels, Rockies, and Nats. I think that we enter mid-July in a good spot, but boy howdy are things going to get tough then...

Thank you. Freeman and Brennan have their jobs until the All Star Break. Then it is time for an evaluation to see if we need someone else out there. I will say both have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks.
#Tpt's hitting with men on base is not sustainable. There ability to score runs with two outs has been uncanny so far.
I really hope Gavin Williams comes back healthy and effective. That will be huge. Same thing with Kwan. The lineup was really stagnant at first with him out. Vogt has been forced to play Fry more as he has been hitting like crazy.
It is so strange to me that we can promote just about any pitcher, starter or reliever, and they are effective with the exact opposite happening with hitters. Manzardo has nothing left to prove in the minors, so they correctly promote him and he is off to a very rough start. Rocchio, Arias, Brennan and Freeman were such talked about prospects, and none of them have done much to this point.
The AL Central being so competitive has been a surprise. I think they have a good chance to continue to play well, probably not at this win rate, and have a good chance to make the playoffs. Probably need another impact bat and starter to have a chance at an unlikely World Series run.
