Oh boy, this season is really starting to get away from us.
At NY Mets this weekend. 1 of 3.
Bieber vs Verlander on Sunday Night baseball.
I think we are ok for now, but we can't get in that 10 games below .500 zone.
Really need McKenzie back. I fear Battenfield isn't ready.
Naylor, Bell and Rosario are heating up a bit. Really need Gimenez to get on track.
Really need someone to take over RF. Brennan is running out of time before someone else should get a shot.
Zunino is fast becoming my least favorite signing ever. I didn't understand it at the time, and it is looking worse than I thought it would be. Should have brought back Hedges for another season if Bo is a year away. Sean Murphy is tearing it up for LDOT.
UEM, my way too early prediction is that it will shake out:
1. Williams
2. Allen
3. Bibee
All should be good barring injury.
Thoughts?
Williams, to me, looks like an absolute monster in the Clemens / Cole overpowering type way. I can't remember the last time that we had a guy who could just rev it up like that as a starter.
Allen seems like the best pitcher. I like how how goes about it.
Bibee is the most iffy of the three for sure. I think that he will need another pitch next year, maybe a two-seamer or change up.

You probably read this, and I am sure other teams do this, but the big league and minor league coaching staff apparently told Williams that in his outings in the minors this year he should work on his curve and slider because he would not gain anything by blowing fastballs by overmatched minor leaguers that everyone knew he could do. He supposedly followed that advice and got really better with his off speed stuff. He can still throw a heater. Fun to watch.
