UEM, my thoughts on #tpt for this season and the near future:
1. I think we need to trade for a catcher for the 2nd half. Whoever we can get for less: Murphy or Contreras I am good with. Murphy is under control for a bit. Do we want him to be a backup to Bo Naylor for a few years assuming that Naylor can play at the MLB level. That could solve our catching needs for 3 years.
2. We really need another reliable bullpen arm. After Clase there is no one I am really confident in. The contenders would be Eli Morgan and Trevor Stephan.
3. If we are going to contend at all this year, we probably need another starting pitcher. I don't want to give up a lot, doe and really only need this starter for this season and possibly the next. Our pipeline of starting pitchers in AA looks really good.
4. Our outfield has been bad, but I am not keen on adding anyone. We have to figure out who can play. I believe Kwan and Straw can be the LF and CF starters for multiple seasons. Your not going to believe this, but Tito probably stayed with Straw too long in the leadoff spot. He is starting to get back on track since hitting 9th. Kwan at leadoff is actually working quite well.
5. I have been impressed with Nolan Jones. Small sample size and everything but this guy deserves an extended look.
ETA: I was all in on trading Rosario as he doesn't seem to be a long term fit. However, he has been perhaps our best hitter for the last month or two. We have to ride with him the rest of the season. Now, I am questioning if we keep him even longer.

We're not contending this year even though we may make the postseason as the final wildcard if things fall right. I'd rather go long term solution at catcher, so let's get Murphy.
For the life of me, I cannot imagine how you are not confident in Eli Morgan. he should be the 8th inning guy. Hoping that Karinchak can bounce back. Would be nice to add another arm or promote a Logan Allen into a spot.
Pitch the young kids and get them ready for the next two seasons where we can make a run at the division title. Hopefully the new minority owner can pony up enough to sign Beibs.
Nolan Jones should get first crack at RF.
Maybe trading Franmil will solve one of the spots in the pen or OF.

I hope we make the playoffs as I think it will be some valuable experience this young team needs.
I saw Terry Pluto floating the Franmil trade rumors. I assume there is something to it, as it appears the front office often leaks stuff to him. I understand the motivation, but Franmil has power that we do not have anywhere right now in our lineup or system. Tough to let that guy go. Other than his first bad month, Franmil has been decent and is warming up.
His numbers are great. It appears I just witnessed some of his bad games recently. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around that he is really good now in his role.
That is such a dumb post. Is the name change a factor in decreased attendance? Possibly, but it is a very small one.
Also, #tpt is averaging 2,000 more a game than last year.
What are the big factors?
1. A lot of the fanbase despises ownership because they believe he won't spend money to compete. It is frustrating to see any player that develops into a star leave because the team can't afford to pay him. You will see.
2. For whatever reason Cleveland is a Browns town. If a Browns exhibition game was on TV at the same time of a regular season #tpt game, the Browns game would have a higher TV rating. Potentially the exhibition game would outdraw an early playoff game for #tpt. The only time since the 60s #tpt was #1 in Cleveland was when the Browns left, #tpt had a new stadium and had some of its most fun teams in their history.
3. Cleveland is losing population especially in the City and the inner ring suburbs. So many of the fans are in the far out suburbs and don't want to come downtown.
4. Cleveland's economy is bad again, and it seems like it is having a very slow recovery from the pandemic.

Don't worry, if you build a stadium close to where your fans have moved, you'll be racist again and can bring back Indians

My question is about #2. Is there any MLB Team that would outdraw the local NFL team in ratings. Possibly Yankees, but New York is so weird and big. But any normal city, I would think NFL Preseason would outdraw MLB playoffs, even Patriots over Red Sox.

yeah, but it is really lopsided in Cleveland. Also, Cleveland is a much smaller city so the difference in interest has a big impact on the baseball team.

When they had both, I'd put my money on the St. Louis Cardinals.
Right now, because of success, maybe Houston?
